Car in garage location possible?

Is there any sensor / device / tag that could make Homey recognize when my car is parked in garage?

I guess it should be possible with the parkingSensor from BleBox. But please find out for yourself if it’s really possible.

Furthermore the parkingSensor isn’t supported by the Homey bleBox app yet. Therefore, it’s better to ask in the app topic or on GitHub first if the app developer is willing to add the sensor.

Edited, because it will not work.

No, parkingSensor is not a connected device. It’s just a radar device capable of LED control to help parking with a car in the garage. It doesn’t have any WiFi or bluetooth to connect to other devices.

DIY solution - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU1KD_aJSMY
(I think it could be working with Tasmota and Device Capabilities device backed by MQTT connection)

Or probably following the same principle, https://homey.app/en-cz/app/com.gruijter.wtlm/Wireless-Tank-Level-Meter/ with https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005297061218.html - but haven’t tested myself - just the levels would be the state for car available or not available

You can consider mounting an IR sensor to the right hand wall, with a reflector on the left hand wall, or whatever :grimacing: The car just needs to block the signal, then the IR output contact will switch.
Example:

You can connect the output contact to a smart flood sensor f.i.: Aqara models have two screws peeking out to connect the wires to.

Contact closed: flood sensor sends “detection” signal.
