Can I Connect Homey Cloud with KlikAanKlikUit

I want to migrated from Homewizard to Homey Pro, but before I decided to purchase this I wanted to test this first with the Homey Cloud. When I try to add a KAKU ACD-1000 it give a message that it requieres a Homey Bridge. Is there a way to test the Homey Cloud without a Homey Bridge?

Additional question when I decide to purchase the Homey Pro is it possible to connect SmartWare Cameras?

Thanks in advance.

The reason why Homey Cloud indicates that a Homey Bridge is needed, is that you need a physical device that actually controls the KlikAanKlikUit devices via the 433 MHz band. So Homey Cloud would instruct the bridge to send the on/off signal to the KlikAanKlikUit plug. I don’t think you can control those KlikAanKlikUit plugs without the bridge.

If you want to know which devices are supported by the Homey Pro, a good starting point is the Homey App Store. Each device/brand requires a Homey app to connect it to Homey. Zigbee/Z-Wave devices can also be added as generic/basic devices without an app. But you’ll only get basic functionality (like on/off). Matter devices can normally be added without an app (though your mileage may vary).

I see that there is an app for Smartwares devices, but that only applies to 433 MHz devices, not IP cameras.

Thanks SunBeech,

Looking again on the Homey website if I understand correctly even when purchasing the Home Pro I still need a Homey Bridge in order to connect via 433 MHz band?

Does Home Pro support any camera brand?

Thanks in advance.

No, the Homey Pro contains the protocols that the bridge can handle and more, including 433 MHz. So no bridge needed. When I started out with Homey, I used it to control KlikAanKlikUit devices, as those where the only ones I had.

The product page contains a table at the bottom indicating the supported protocols and differences between Homey Cloud (with and without a Bridge) and Homey pro.

I don’t have experiences myself with cameras, but you might also want to check out the camera/door bell section in the Homey Best Buy Guides (in addition to the App Store).

Note that, as far as I know, Homey currently can’t display live feeds from cameras (only stills). I believe Athom, the maker of Homey, is working on that.

SunBeech,
I will have a look at the suggested pages.
Thanks again!

Just FYI: I know you were explaining apps stuff in general, but I’d like to mention Homey Cloud does not support Matter.

You can test Homey Cloud without a bridge, but only with cloud-2-cloud apps & devices;
These are the currently available apps:

As far as I know you can’t migrate from Cloud to Pro. Something to think about when creating complicated flows; you’ll have to recreate them when you switch to Pro.

Better make it a short test/evaluation and switch shortly after…
