I’ve been in contact with Sam from Arre, and he’s been super helpful in getting this resolved!
I just was on a call with him, where we tried a beta firmware build of the arre button, and that fixed the issue for me. I’m now able to pair it, use it in a flow, and it actually works!
I’m so happy this finally got resolved. I asked Sam, and if you’d like to also try this beta firmware build, you can email support@arrehome.com
I just got arre smart buttons yesterday and I had to do exact same thing. Add arre button to Home app, create a virtual switches in Homey Pro and expose them to HomeKit. In Home app configured for pressed to trigger virtual switches and in Homey created flow I needed that was triggered by state change on those virtual switches.
Weirdest thing is, aside that Homey doesn’t detect triggers from these buttons, for me when I try, I’m missing double press. It’s presents and available in every other ecosystem but Homey. Do you at least have double press as an option? Because I don’t.
I purchased the Arre button before checking the forum…should have known better. I wanted to try out the much-hyped Matter-over-Thread standard because supposedly “it just works” but we’re not off to a good start.
I see the same behavior others have reported since January - the button pairs and appears to be connected (it reports the battery status), but pressing the button doesn’t trigger any actions.
I’ll try reaching out to Arre support to see if they can provide me that beta firmware update.
Hi @nvh, any chance you still have that beta firmware that worked with the Homey Pro? I tried reaching out to support@arrehome.com but they never responded
Speaking off, does anybody else here have their Arre buttons drain the battery?
I have 2 of them and I’m not exaggerating when I say I have to replace battery every month or two, and I press it max 15 times in a month. I never had a device before that drains batteries so fast.
