I would expect it to turn on when I go to bed and off when I get out of bed.
That is not possible. It is a presence sensor.

@Asterix
Did you program it with zigbee or matter?
Position it so that it covers the area next to the bed where you get out.
The FP300 cannot distinguish whether you are lying down or standing up.
I use it with Zigbee. I placed the sensor directly above my bed, but during the night, while I’m sleeping, the presence sensor deactivates and reactivates at least 5-6 times. If I had associated a flow with the sensor, the light would turn on 5-6 times during my sleep.

If I understand correctly, because it’s a presence sensor, it should remain active as long as I’m lying in bed (even if I’m still while asleep). After a few seconds of getting out of bed and leaving the room, the presence sensor should deactivate. Am I doing something wrong?
No, a presence sensor stays active as long as it detects a certain amount of water (like a human).
Be careful where you point it at, walls and glass do not block the sensor (as opposite to Infrared motion sensors), it’s very well possible it detects something behind glass or wall. A ceiling might not block it as well, it involves a lot of fine tuning and repositioning.
But I think you should tune the sensitivity threshold, detection range and motion hold (if possible with your sensor)
Motion hold for example, reduces these short “undetected” events.
With my sensors all of this is still not 100%“watertight” for longer presence periods (several hours), I always use the same flow as I use with my motion sensors:
Yes.
mmWave technology (Radar): Detects waves that reflect on people. Even the micromovement of a chest when breathing is detected, so that the system knows that someone is still there, even if they are still sitting still.
Joke?
@Jan_Albert He probably meant in the bathroom while showering
Body water content plays a large role on why these sensors can detect humans so well.
@Asterix , is your screenshot from Homey or the Aqara app. Asking as I have an FP300 connected to Homey but don’t see the setting for distance.
Does the Aqara app on the Homey add any value? I have tried installing the FP 300 with and without but I did not notice any difference (and I am trying to keep my Homey as clean as possible)
I might be really late on this. But connecting to Homey directly via the homey aqara app via zigbee. Do you get the option to make flows based on the different distance’s?
Like 4m and 2m?
Or do you need the aqara phone app and hub too do that?
This is exactly what I am going to try, just got my sensor today.
Could you share how your flow is build up?
I am not currently using a Homey device but if I were I would use the “The Motion Alarm Turned On” and “The Presence Alarm Turned On” cards to turn my lights on and the “The Presence Alarm Turned Off” to turn them off. I use the motion/presence timeouts built into the device instead of timers in my Flows. I try not to overly complicate things. Hope this helps.
I never said anything about using distance in Flows so you may have meant to reply to someone else.
