Aqara devices from AliExpress and Tuya devices question

Hi,

Do Aqara devices from AliExpress work with Homey Pro?

I believe they don’t work with the Aqara Hub that why I ask.

Also for the Tuya Zigbee App anyone knows if the rectangular shape rain sensors work or only the Flower shape one?

and the Tuya radar sensor on the Tuya Zigbee App it show the semi square one.

Would the circular one also works?

same for the water leak sensor would any Tuya work or it have to be the same one as the Picture on the Tuya Zigbee App?

The hardware IDs can be different, even when the device looks exactly the same. So there’s no way to tell from an AliExpress listing.

The official Tuya app (by Drenso) can connect almost every device either via WiFi or via Zigbee using a Tuya MultiMode or Zigbee gateway

But the Drenso Tuya app need the cloud?

I was trying to stay local.

but wow that a bummer even if they look the same there no guarantee that it would work.

Yes the Tuya app by Drenso needs a server connection. But in my case, Tuya is the most stable service in my smart home, it simply always works no matter what. The same can’t be said about the local connections though.

Most of my smart home uses Tuya WiFi devices and I’ve never had any outages since I first got my Homey many years ago

You can also search for a specific Aqara modelnumber on Ali. The first post in the Aqara app topic lists all supported modelnumbers.

In general, I have never had any problems connecting Aqara devices from Ali after checking this.

Only for Aqara, not for Tuya. The only way to guarantee that it will work is with a Tuya gateway and the Drenso app, since that supports generix Tuya devices

I was looking not add more hubs.
But if you have great success with the Tuya hub and sensors that sound good I might get one then,

What hub are you using?

Also forgot about that Aqara list on the Aqara App topic, is on the list MCCGQ11LM door sensor for $9. Ali dont seem to have a lot of stock of the new T1 version but it also more expensive o well they both have a 2yr battery life.

Perhaps don’t stare yourself blind on Ali for Aqara stuff.

In the Netherlands, I’ve sometimes found the same device for just two or three euros more. But then I have them at home the next day… :slight_smile:

Depends on how many you want and how urgent ypu need them. I am usually very bad at waiting for new gadgets… :wink:

On amazon are like $16-$17 each on Ali can be found for $9-$10

yea Ali takes like 2 weeks to get here. But there could be a huge saving
