Apps in Homey won't work after restoring backup - everything crashes

It start when the Aeotec and Heatit Controls app stopped working. It was the Red triangel warning on the devices connected through those two app. The devices went “Device unavailable” and “App Unavailable”. Since i have bought the backup subscription, i I tried to restore a backup. Then all my devices went “Device unavailable” and “App Unavailable”… I have tried reinstalling the app also. But then the app just disappears and the devices still have “Device unavailable” and “App Unavailable”.

Please help, i am in deep trouble


Did you restart your Homey after restoring your backup?

Yes, several times

I also have tried all the other available backups.

Did you install the latest available Homey firmware? I am not sure which model you have, but on some models there were recent issues with apps not installing.

It is the Homey Pro late 2023. Yes, I did. I used the USB tool since the restore didn’t went further. After the firmware update was ok, the backup was loaded. All seems to be applied but apps and devices is not functioning as supposed to.

Homey v12.4.0 is installed.

Maybe other community members have further ideas, but for now I suggest you (also) report this to
Athom support.

The only thing I can think of is to perform a reset of your Homey and restore your backups. But as you already restored a backup (without a reset if I am correct) I am not sure if this would solve your issue.

Yes, I have performed several reset with restore of backup as well. I have already sent a support ticket.

I have just tried to restore a backup on a brand new Homey Pro 2023. It did not go any better than previous attempts with the “original” Homey Pro. It seems like all my backups are useless.

I don’t believe the problem is in your backups, if you use the cloud backup supscription that is.
There’s more users reporting similar issues here.

There is 1 app that still works Ledvance app.
The rest is down and i get the notivication app not available

Yeah i have the same problems, one app dropped a week ago and two more yesterday without any interference.
Looks like the apps is installed but dosent start, and homey thinks they arent installed as they arent running. Can still reinstall the apps, can see them disappear and then reinstall but the end result is the same.
Havent tried fw update or backups yet as other ppl have reported that it doesent make a difference.

Can’t believe it’s true, but it worked! I was very skeptical that it would work, but restarted routers and then Homey Pro. Now everything seems to be back to normal. Fantastic, thank you very much!

Yepp same here. work in it support so i should have known better by “turning it off and on again”. But as you said, very far fetched when it, in my case just was three apps and everything else runs well and the error messages just says apps not installed.
