Not sure how it’s related but if it’s about community integration, the right topic is here - [APP][Pro] Broadlink App and also there are specific instructions for RM4Pro, so please ensure first you read and follow it.

Hi,

Please try to stick to English on this topic.

To answer your question: the community app is a little bit more of a hassle. You need to file for a IoT developer account, every once in a while you need to renew it.
In my case there were some additional reasons: I have some lights that I can change the color of. However, that doesn’t work in the community app. Either I don’t get the color picker or I get the color picker and when I hit green it turns red or something like that.
I only started buying Tuya smart plugs after the official Tuya app was released, so I am not sure if those work in the community app.

Fortunately in my case the official app still works. However, for the future I do hope that Athom and Tuya find a way of collaborating that is beneficial for us as end users.

Why work with Tuya stuff in the first place? Because it’s cheap! That’s my main reason.

Cheap, but most of all easily available!

There is a limit how many devices you can link in the community app of tuya. I tought you can only use like 25 devices more, wont work … Or maybe im wrong and i could not figure it out…

Bought Homey Pro, bought some Aqara sesnors, but sadly my lights are Calex, so im forced to use Tuya for now. And no im not going to switch out all my lights for now. We decided to go with an old retro look these lights are perfect for it.

So i hope they get this app working fast … I dont understand why its taking this long anyway

I have the exactly same problem. I should just have gone with Plejd and I would not have had this problem…

Agree. Where is the sense of urgency to help the users?

I would also like to know if there will be a solution for this Tuya issue or if I should buy plugs from another brand (black friday actions). Can someone clarify please. Thank you.

Personally I would always try to have smart home devices from a more reputable brand. I only have one Tuya device and that is because there was no other option.

You should look into plugs that use zigbee / z wave or local wifi. Those generally are not cloud-dependant.

Even if this gets fixed in the future, I don’t think I can recommend Tuya devices any longer

Personally for me it is perfect lesson to stay away from cloud based devices. Especially for lights. Lights I even keep on physical switches duplicating them with zigbee buttons in a printed cover right on the switch. To not end up in a dark basement because any of cloud chain pieces decided I can not use the lamp. In a worst scenario I can toggle the lamp and it should hopefully switch on (not in case of the single secondhand Tuya I have, though).
As to concrete platform/hub, I always prefer to have plan B. And whereas smarthome ecosystem is still quite a wild West, I have both Homey Pro and HA (well, actually old Ikea and Xiaomi hubs also for some not supported by those two devices or features). When I was buying HP, I thought about some case like in this topic. In opposite way, though. I thought that whereas HP is kind of proprietary solution, some brands will prefer it over HA. And it happened in other way around. But still, decision gave a positive result. Forementioned Tuya lamp is connected through HA and passed to HP through HA Community app there.

Well, plan B in this case is using the Tuya app, right? Until things get sorted out you are not literally in the dark.

 In regard to the Tuya lamp my plan B was to order another Philips Hue with same parameters, but Zigbee. After I received it, Tuya will go to a box on a shelf until I find really safe quite bright place to use it.

Or cloud chain pieces decide that you cannot use your Homey anymore. But at least you’ll have HA :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Unfortunatelly it could happen as well. Yes. So, you are right: HA is there. But meanwhile I prefer user friendly way to create flows and manipulate devices.

Thank you for giving your customers this convidence on helping to find a solution soon

I don’t think it is Athom’s fault here. Doekse is just being honest.

Remember; Tuya is dead cheap. And that is for a reason. Making yourself less dependent of other companies’ services is the clue here.

Getting devices that rely on cloud services is generally a no go for me.

I think in this case we could say ‘goedkoop is duurkoop’ :’)

I see that different. Tuya is delivering on their promise. They sell the hardware (through partners), they have setup a cloud and created an app to control and read the devices. Some of the partners can create their own version of the app.

All works properly! It’s just the fact that we don’t want to use their app to control the devices and read their values
