And in my opinion, the cloud is still the most secure connection method, since cloud connections are encrypted, while LAN connections are often plaintext HTTP

I’m also thinking of buying some Shelly devices but they need to connect via the cloud to my Homey Pro since LAN connections are mostly blocked in my network. I might check out the API docs and build a HomeyScript for it

This in interesting discussion actually, but maybe too much for the Homey forum. Encryption on communication level isn’t guaranteed for cloud devices (you’re be surprised), but absolutely common. The question is, why encrypt local direct connections when you fully control the network and can ensure that the low-level packets can not be read by other on that network? In this controlled case you are just wasting energy constantly encrypting and decrypting.

Why not create a firewall rule that allows your Homey to talk with your Shelly device directly? Maybe Drenso can help you with that, although it might be too setup specific… I think it can be enough to allow Homey to access the Shelly (http port) and allow related traffic, and add 6114 for the connection initiated by the Shelly.

It would skip the cloud dependency (less steps, more secure) and will therefor be faster and more reliable.

Because I can’t trust my LAN. I know that some of my IoT devices are very insecure (use unsigned OTA for example, and some probably even contain backdoors for China (the Tenda camera for example, their routers are known to contain backdoors at least). So no, I can’t know for sure that it isn’t intercepted.

Because they’re on the same network, with client isolation turned on. That can’t be changed with firewall rules

I’ve noticed two things with the new app.. 1/ Slat angle is still not there with Shelly 2PM Gen4 in Zigbee mode. 2/ How can I add my Pro 3EM in LAN? They are simply not listed..

It’s really simple. If a device isn’t listed, then it isn’t supported (yet).

To use the Pro 3EM, you’ll need to install the “old” Shelly (Legacy) app for now and connect the device via “Any Shelly Wi-Fi Device.”

To add to @DirkG ‘s post: You might want to reach out to the developer (Drenso) and request support for your devices in the new app.

Though they plan to support all Gen2+ devices eventually, if I understand correctly, they prioritize based on user requests.

They have already helped me by bringing in support for several Gen2 and Gen3 devices.

That’s what I’ve done thanks. But in the instructions they advise to remove the other so I was kind of expecting that everything was brought to the new app.

I’m having problems with the blu motion zb. Homey isn’t receiving any motion data. The Shelly app shows motion, but Homey doesn’t, and vice versa. The problem occurs intermittently.

I am using the new Shelly Control app.

When checking the app information page and selecting the Shelly 1PM Gen4 - Zigbee, I see the “When…” flow cards listed in the documentation, including the ones for specific button inputs:

However, when I actually try to build a Flow in Homey Pro, the cards related to button/switch inputs (like “button was pressed”) are completely missing from the list of available triggers:

To rule out the most common hardware and configuration issues: I have physically installed a momentary switch (push button). Additionally, in Shellys input/output device settings (Shelly App), I have explicitly configured the input as a “Button” and the relay type as a “Momentary switch”.

My goal: I want to use the physical button together with Shelly 1PM Gen4 - Zigbee next to my main door to turn the hallway lights on/off with a single press (which it currently does natively without a Shelly device). With a double press, I want to trigger a Homey Flow to turn off all lights in the house.

Since the physical button and device settings are configured correctly (in my opinion), why would these Flow cards still be hidden?

Unfortunately the store page doesn’t display the cards correctly: in the app the cards are filtered on capability, which the store does not respect. We have already submitted that as bug report at Athom.

Input events for Zigbee devices is on our todo list, and will arrive in the future.

Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Could you give a rough estimate of when Zigbee input events might land? Just trying to gauge whether it’s worth waiting for the update or if I should look into another solution for now.

At this I cannot give you a fixed timeline, but it should not take too long. If you contact us using the support email we can notify you when it becomes available.

I was happy to see that this new Homey Shelly Control app now supports the Top AC Portable EV charger. I have been using the charger for a couple of months now, controlling it via the Shelly app or the web interface without any problems.
The Charger has been issued a fixed IP address by the DHCP server of my ASUS router. However, when trying to add the charger it is not found by the app. Also, there seems to be missing the functionality to add the charger manual with the IP address.

I emailed the support email address in the initial post a week ago about the missing support of the Shelly Plus Plug UK variant, but I have yet to receive a response/ETA, or see a relevant update to the new Shelly Control app on Homey. I did check all of my Plus Plugs to make sure that they are all running the latest version firmware too.

I am moving devises from legacy app to new app but I have 2x Shelly 1+ where I use detached input mode but when I try to replace it in the automation I get this screen

where do I get the input name from is it “1” or “one” as there is only a single input ?

The __name__ should actually have been replaced with a value there! As this device only has a single input that is the one you are looking for this flow card.

Yeah, we got a lot of requests over the past weeks (not just with the Shelly app). We’re still in the process of replying everyone, so a personal response will come!

I have had an email reply now, stating that the UK Plus Plug and Wall Display XL have been put on the list of devices to add. so I’ll stick with the old app for now.

This question really needs an answer…

I don’t have 90 devices but not far from and I’m not redoing x number of moods or flows.
