[App][Pro] Zaptec charging

Yes. I meant the proprietary app or the portal. You log in to all of them. But since your charger is maintained by the installation owner - no you can not change the authentication requirement. Same as with me. I’m lucky enough to have fixed price. The bummer is that when not owning the installation, you can not use the internal Eco mode either. Is the solution to just check prices often and stop charging when price is high? I would not care much if the charger starts up doing 5 minutes of charge on a high price.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I’m logged in with the same user, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

In that case, I think I’ll ask the installation owner to change the wallbox authorization setting to “not required.” After that, I’ll try using a flow to control whether charging at the wallbox is allowed.

Thanks again for your support!

Unsure if the Sense status is included in the Zaptec API but would it be possible te receive a notification when the Senso go offline and i’m being dropped to “Offline charging”?

No info about the Sense unfortunately. Can you use a “and”-card and check if the charging mode is not set to “auto” anymore?

Hello,
ZAPTEC device loses contact with Homey all the time. Some idea of what is the problem.

I believe charging mode will remain set at Automatic is that’s the setting to rely on the Sense. I guess i’ll create a flow that if charging below a certain current i’ll get a message.

It looks like zaptec have change the authentication method is some way. It is not possible to login using the homey app. See also the statement on their portal.

How can I login again with the homey app? The repair option is not working.

Errors in the log of the homey app

@philipostli I’ll send you an email with the Zaptec team in CC. Since they’ve broken authentication, this seems like the perfect opportunity to switch the Zaptec app over to OAuth :wink:

Also everybody, please feel free to reach out to Zaptec directly about this issue through their support form!

Same here, Zaptec app no longer working since this morning… :sleepy_face:

Got a reply from the Zaptec team;

I’ve flagged this with our developers and shared the contact information. They will reach out as soon as possible. Thank you for raising this.

Our Swedish country manager also flagged this, so we are investigating.

Keeping you’ll posted :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Looks like the app broke two days ago. I’m not able to authenticate the app with Zaptec anymore. They had their own issues with their portal and iOS/Android apps, which they fixed yesterday.

The app should be up and running again with version 1.10.4, thanks a lot for the quick work @pwad!

However, Zaptec still has some rate limits, so to make it work, please do the following:

  1. Make sure to install the latest version of the Homey App which implements the new, not-yet-documented authentication for Zaptec.
  2. Repair your Zaptec device in Homey: log in again with your Zaptec credentials.
  3. If you still receive an error – do not dispair. You’ve already set the first step. Now, wait a couple of minutes so you don’t trigger Zaptec’s rate limit for authentication
  4. After a few minutes, restart the Zaptec app on your Homey Pro

Now, the Zaptec device should come live again and you can use it as before :smile:

I have two chargers and when repair and enter credentials the other turns broken after app restart. Strange :thinking:

EDIT: after full Homey restart both chargers are up and running :+1:

thank you for swift update @pwad

Is it added with another account? We only support one account at a time. But you can use the portal to share the charger with the same account. Then you must re-add the charger, since it gets its own I’d.

One account but two chargers, have worked perfect before

Yeah, thanks to @pwad for quick response. I saw his solution when I came home from work.

Also re-pairing should not be necessary. Mine just started working again at its own. The authentication method is the same, it just had some extra required headers all of a sudden.

Anyone using the EV charger app Zaptec? It seems to be broken as of two days ago. It’s not possible to login to Zaptec within the app. Zaptec has had issues themselves with their web portal and iOS app, which they fixed yesterday. The Homey app is not built by them, so I’m hoping that the developer will fix it.

Hoping worked (this time) :zany_face:

Many apps have their own topic, and might have other channels as well in order to reach the developer and fellow device owners;
It’s all mentioned on the app page at the app store !
