Iāve identified the problem: During app restart,
the MQTT subscription logic is creating duplicate subscriptions for the same devices,
which exceeds AWS IoTās subscription quota limit.
This is a known issue that occurs specifically during app restarts when devices already
exist in Homey.
Temporary Workaround:
The app should stabilize after the initial restart errors. The MQTT subscriptions will
eventually work correctly, but you might see these errors in the logs during startup.
Permanent Fix:
Iām working on v1.1.10 which will include proper subscription deduplication to prevent
this issue. The fix will ensure each device only subscribes once, even during restarts.
The good news: Your devices appear to be working correctly after the initial errors
(I can see successful shadow updates in your logs).
For your new device: Please give it some time to appear. Sometimes it takes 2-3 try attempts before adding it, I really dont know why.
Update on my Contact with XSense: They like the work, but I canāt have access to their developer API. So I have to log Network-Traffic, reverse engineer the Apps and rely on the HomeAssistant Integration.
Tnx for youāre respons Sven.
Iāve succefully installed one out of three yesterday. Will trie this afternoon to instal the other 2.
Iām looking into changing all my smoke detectors in the house with the X-Sense XS01-M with the SBS50 hub. It looks like the Homey app supports the hub. Have anyone tested it and can tell me which functions you get in homey for flows and surveillance?
Also; is it possible to connect the XS01-M to Homey without the base station?
No, thatās not possible as the X-Sense devices use a proprietary protocol.
Ok, but is it still possible to connect those detectors to Homey via the basestation? And how does that show up in Homey? Is it one unit, or do you get each unit as a seperate one to create flows with?
Hi,
yes the SBS50 Basestation is supported but will not show up in Homey. Every attached device to the SBS50 will be shown as separate device.
Ok, and the devices then supports the same cards as shown in the app front page?
Hi, I have the same Problem. Do you have a solution?
Thanks
Patrick
I have the same problem with a water leak Sensor (SW50B).
Do you have a solution?
Will any of the smoke, CO or smoke/co detectors work with Homey as long as they are connected to the base station? There are so many variations. Iām considering the SC07-MR that connects to the base station.
I ordered this one SC07-WX.
Do you add this in the app as CO detector or Smoke detector?
As a smoke detector
Hi Sven-Christian,
Iām have a SC07-WX in the X-Sense App and in the Wireless Lan. Iāve created a second account with a different email adress and share the device - it is positivly in the app. When I add it to Homey pro I can log in and then the further process just ends with nothing - no selection box, no device added no status reported.
Any idea? Thanks Sven (also)
Hi,
Did it work before or did you just configure the App?
Sometimes the API becomes unresponsive and you have to try it 2-3 times till Any devices are added.
Xsense does not give me Access to the Developer api, so Its just Reverse Engineering their App and the Home Assistant Integration. But with Python on homey, I am already working on a more stable Port.
Just Download the Beta Integration.
Hi Sven,
thanks for the tipp - after a few further tries it worked!
Thanks a lot for your work! Greetings Sven
Hallo zusammen,
Based on your reports, Iāve just taken a closer look at this myself. Iām using 6x SC07-WX Wi-Fi units without a bridge.
The smoke detectors are registered with two Homeys (early23 and early26) and Home Assistant.
The smoke and CO alarms triggered immediately and the alerts were sent to the Homeys and Home Assistant.
Please check your models to see if this only affects certain smoke detectors or base stations.
