Hello Sven-Christian and welcome.
I am already using your app extensively. It is excellent, and I am very grateful for it. X-SENSE smoke detectors are among the best in the world and can now finally be used with Homey.
To make sure you are aware of the forum rules, please read the Welcome to the forum! post here.
And I slightly edited your App topic to match the conventions for app specific topics.
Hint, check the URLs to the app pages, the way I edited them will automatically switch the pages to the language of the user.
Some important Informations: The Integration fully relies on the HomeAssistant Integration because Homey doesn’t provide Paho-mqtt availability and X-Sense doesn’t provide an official API Documentation. So the integration relays on an paho-mqtt Workaround and on reverse engineering of the network traffic (of my X-Sense Devices) and of the android app. So that’s why I need with every Error, Bug or improvement the App logs.
Is it fully vibe coded? No, I just use AI for some suggestions on reverse engineering or the paho-workaround. But it is really NOT fully vibe coded.
It’s really important for me to fully satisfy the community and to find bugs and solve them. Add functionality and improvement. But its an hobby project
I already contacted X-Sense for the official API Documentation. After receiving it, I will implement further improvements.
One Big Issue at the moment:
You need a dedicated X-Sense Account to work with the Integration properly.
X-Sense allows only one active session per account. If you use the same account on your smartphone and in Homey, they will constantly kick each other out, leading to errors (“Another device is logged in”) and data gaps.
Recommendation:
Create a secondary X-Sense account (using a different email address).
In your main X-Sense app, use the “Family Share” feature to share your home with this new account.
Log in to Homey using only this secondary account.
I’ve been using it for a couple of days now without any issues, and it’s working great so far.
As I understand it, your main focus at the moment is bug squashing and retrieving the necessary API information from X-Sense. However, if possible, I would really appreciate an additional card or feature that allows triggering an alarm on X-Sense devices.
At home, I still have some older detectors that are hard-wired and include a relay output for external devices. It would be great if we could use that relay to trigger the X-Sense detectors, so they can all alarm together.
Just an idea for the future, thanks again for all the work you’re putting into this app!
The only thing I noticed is that the battery level is not yet displayed.
But I don’t know how often the app checks the battery level. If it’s only every 24 hours, I’m too impatient.
Luxury problems
Edit:
Today, I will install two more SC07-WX detectors. The plan is to install a total of six detectors.
The SC07-WX is a combined smoke and carbon monoxide detector with a display. It has a replaceable battery and its own Wi-Fi. No separate base station is required! The smoke detector comes with its own app, which also sends alerts when you are away from home.
Wish I knew this a couple months ago was looking at the x sense smoke detectors but couldn’t find anything on getting them to link with homie so I ended up not pulling the trigger on them. It’s great to see an app finally and next time they’re on sale I’ll probably switch to them from my kiddie wink compatible ones.
Thanks for the app. I integrated my smoke detectors and my heat detectors. I would suggest to change the flow chart “the smoke detector turns on” to “the smoke detector alarm turns on”. Second suggestion is to delete the flow charts that can not be used if the detector does not support the function.
Hartstikke bedankt. Ik baalde dat deze er niet was. Wat een enorme toevoeging aan m’n flows bij noodsituaties. Indien rook, alarm, lampen aan en deur open.
Have you checked whether it really is an XS01-WX? If it’s not a stand-alone smoke detector, it will only work with an X-Sense bridge. They have so many different smoke detectors that I almost ordered the wrong ones myself.
You don’t have multiple SSIDs with different IP addresses, do you? Homey and X-Sense must be on the same network. Otherwise, I can’t think of anything else and the developer will have to help further.
I have a made a different account for Homey
An use the same wifi
But it stil cant find any devices
I dont know wat to do now
I think I wil send it back and buy one Thats 100% works with Homey
