So, I have been playing with the new dashboards to maybe replace the Homey Cornelisse Dash dashboard. Are you planning to add a widget for it? I guess the standard Athom speaker widget could be improved on…
What else do you want to improve, it does what it should…
Not at the moment, but you never know.
Unfortunately I have to disappoint you, NO.
Firstly, the API is only “very same” so, as far as I know Linkplay (WiiM), adjustments will certainly have to be made because they have different versions.
Secondly, I don’t have an Arylic player to test the app and I can’t do it without one.
Thirdly, the app was made for WiiM devices and not for all those to whom Linkplay also sold chipsets. Because that would be a nevrending story and I don’t have enough space in my office/lab to set up all the test devices.
But try it via Home Assistant. Because since HA v2024.08 they have an official Linkplay integration. Then you can control the player with the Homey “Home Assistant App”.
Sorry Chris
Well, the speaker widget doesn’t know the difference between a linear stream (radio) and a non-linear one like spotify. Thus, we get buttons for next/prev, shuffle and repeat in the standard widget when listening to e.g. TuneIn. It even doesn’t indicate the current playing status correctly.
Hi, Chris, thank you very much for detailed response.
I will try to do it with HA. I didn’t know that it is about control of the specific chip made by Linkplay and has versioning. I didn’t look under the hood of you app and thought that you use HTTP requests for the controls of WiiM.
I am currently controlling Arylic devices via multiple GET Logic requests to the specific IPs (screenshot), this works fine despite it is a quite big Advanced flow, with lack of flexibility.
Hopefully I will be able to tide it up with HA integrations.
Still no support for the Ultra?
doesn’t seem to find it on my network using the app.
Apologies, was not clear it meant 2025.
Hi Chris,
trying to add my Wiim Amp to Homey but to no avail. It says no new devices have been found. I saw it needs a fixed/static IP address, but even after restarting that didn’t help.
-
App version: v.1.1.1
-
Homey model: Homey Pro (Early 2023)
-
Homey version: 12.5.3
-
WiiM Player: WiiM Amp
-
WiiM Player Version: 93D2
Hoping you can give me some guidance, many thanks in advance!
This seems to be an mDNS problem. Since I don’t know your network, I can only give you the following tips.
- mDNS must be activated in your network.
- Your Homey Pro and your Wiim Amp must be on the same (v)lan.
- Check if the Wiim AMP address is correct.
Hi Chris,
EDIT: A firmware update of Homey Pro seems to have fixed the issue. Many thanks for this app!
I installed your app and it found my Wiim Pro, but Homey could not control the Wiim Pro; the playing song was not displayed in Homey. I then deinstalled the Wiim Pro in Homey and tried to re-install the Wiim Pro in Homey, but then I get to the generic install audio player screen and nothing happens when i click install; the screen with my Wiim Pro does not appear as it did the first time. I tried to de- and reinstall your app and restart Wiim Pro, but the issue persists. What can I do?

Fixed it! My Wiim is connected to my Deco, which was in Router mode instead of Access Point mode. Put it on AP, the Wiim is now on the same lan as my Homey.
Thanks for the pointers!
Hi,
I have tested everything again and found no problem. The only thing I noticed is that the songs are not always displayed correctly. But (as always) if you compare the homey display with the Wim app display they are identical, so it seems to be a Wiim problem.
If you use the Wiim Homey app, would you be able to use the Soundboard app to play sounds through Wiim without a internet access?
Have you tried it?
? In my opinion, it should work…
No I haven’t tried it since I don’t own a Wiim and there’s no point in buying one if it doesn’t work.
Hi Chris! Thanks for your wiim app, I have been using it since I bought my homey.
I have noticed that the app supports wiim groups, but changing the volume on a group only changes the volume on the head device, not the whole group. Are you aware of this behavior?
I suspect the issue is a wiim issue related to the underlying http vs upnp APIs that I documented here: Inconsistencies between http and upnp APIs for grouped devices | WiiM
Thank you!
App version: 9.6.5.1845
Homey model: Homey Pro (Early 2023)
Homey version: 12.8.2
Wiim Player: wiim pro, in a group with a bunch of wiim minis. grouping mechanism is the original linkplay grouping, not the new wiim grouping

Hi Oliver
No, that’s new!
However, that’s a bug in WiiM. (BDW: I only use the HTTP API to control the player.)
Have you submitted a ticket to WiiM?
Chris
