I think everything should work except location and energy related stuff (battery percentage if hybrid).
Volvo’s developer site is down today, but I recall there were some endpoints I skipped since it stated it doesnt work on Android based cars - maybe can add them now (start car I believe is one that I recall from top of head).
Then again we don’t know what works and what doesnt work until we test it, and I cant do any testing myself since I don’t own a Volvo car.
Hi. To me its a shot in the foot to remove a function BEFORE you have a replacement ready to take over. I control my Volvo depending on many things. vehicle location, weather, my own location. If im home sick or whatever. Now I can control start stop via app and if I forget to stop it it will drain my battery very fast. Damn I’m mad at Volvo now.
i totally agree. I have implemented a rather extreme solution involving AI to analyse if my car needs preheating or not so this is very disappointing since I almost took my cars functionality via the API for granted.
Can’t you connect your vehicle with connected vehicle with the API provided from volvo developer site? Then you can use “climitization start” as a flow card in your flows to start the pre heating on your volvo?
Just to report back regarding using the app with a s90 from 2018, it works fine as long as you get the API-key from Volvo (that Aldin sent earlier in this thread). Can start my heater just fine, cheers!
Hi,
I just installed this app. In the opening post of this thread I see that the charging related actions are only available for PHEVs. I would like if I could use those for my Volvo EX40. Is there any chance this will be possible in the future?
Problem solved! It seams that Homey does not work so well a iPv6 networks. After disabling iPv6 on my router, I could add my vehicle. And solved some other problems as well.
I’m using Homey in combination with a Volvo EX30 and an Easee charger via E-Flux. Both devices are recognized separately, but in the new Energy view, the “Electric Vehicle” tile is not displayed.
The EX30 device has vehicleType: ELECTRIC, but it doesn’t seem to be registered with the class electric_vehicle. Additionally, there is no automatic link between the EX30 and the charger.
Would you consider:
Registering the EX30 as an electric_vehicle with energy and charging status capabilities.
(If possible) Linking the Easee charger and the EX30 within the app.
This would allow Homey to correctly display the EV in the new Energy tab.
Thanks Richard for your excellent work!
For my Volvo V70 (2014) I was happily using your app with the depreciated API.
Recently I switched to the ‘new’ API (connected vehicle) and your app is working again. Great.
Are there any plans to add retrieving the odometer value from your app?
From the Volvo developer portal I can retrieve it successfully using the related JSON file.
Same for some other GET/POST actions (like lights and sounds).
If not, has anyone a working Homeyscript for this? I have tried, but only get authorization errors 401 (although I’m using the same API-key and Bearier on the Volvo Developer Portal successfully).
