Hello,
I guess I know why it seems I miss The option climatization.
I’am driving an mild-hybrid. ( without plug) in Volvo app i have the option to ‘ remote start’ the car instead of climatization.
Is it possible to add a flow-action for remote start?
Hi!
I can’t add my Volvo XC40 2023. I have a VCC API key but when I try to add a car I either get “Timeout” or “connect EHOSTUNREACH 2a02…”
This happens after I click “login”. The new field where to enter the Volvo code never shows.
What am I doing wrong?
Are you using the Connected Vehicle device type? Have you tried from both web app and mobile app?
For anyone using the connected vehicle device type you can surf around the volvo developer docs for more info about what is possible and what is not possible.
The remote start endpoint is here, and it states;
Only available for classic cars. What we mean are cars without Android-based infotainment system. Google, Android, and other Google trademarks, are property of Google LLC.
Hi!
Running the latest version, 1.3.9.
Yes, I am using the connected vehicle device type.
Just tried the web app with the same result.
Then I have no clue Im afriad. Looks like your Homey is not allowed to communicate with Volvo’s API. I just tested and it works here.
Hej!
Thanks for a quick reply.
You don’t think it could have something to do with login instead? What I’m thinking is that I don’t get the verification-code popup and the login does not trigger Volvo to send me an email. I don’t know the logic during login if the app sends the API included in the login message, and therefore block the login attempt…
What do you think about my theory?
We have had som discussions here, Login Timeout · Issue #42 · ricott/homey-com.volvocars · GitHub. Seems like there is some type of block on Volvo’s side.
Hello @Richard_B
I would like to receive the location off the car when engine stopped.
The only way to receive the location is by the “when location is changed” card.
Is it possible to add that tag to the “when the engine stopped” card?
Thanks for the great app!
Hi,
I got this email from Volvo.
Seems like the API will be discontinued.
Will this affect the app for home and how do I mitigate?
I have a 2020 V90

Any response to this?
My VOC in Homey completely stopped communicating 2 days ago.
Get this Error message, does it have to do with the API?
Yes, it seems like the Volvo On Call device type is dead given that Volvo have killed that API. All endpoints return a 403 Forbidden from what I can see …
I’ll ship a new release where the device type is deprecated and with a warning that API is closed by Volvo.
The only device type going forward will be the Connected Vehicle type.

This API (Connected Vehicle) is available for:
All car models from model year 2015 (some endpoints have limited availability).
Source: https://developer.volvocars.com/apis/connected-vehicle/v2/overview/
How can you generate the VCC API KEY from the developer account?
I was also wondering about this since the app description states: “The new Connected Vehicle device type supports Android auto based cars, model year 2022 and later. To add this device type you need to register at the Volvo developer portal and get hold of a VCC API key.”, I reached out to Volvo’s support today regarding this but the guy I spoke to did not know anything about this and asked to return after contacting the development team. I got an s90 from 2018, hopefully it is supported…

Follow these steps for generate API
Their new standard APIs are a little messy. The APIs below are used in the Connected Vehicle device type.
On top of these conditions there are certain endpoints that have different limitations.
- Connected vehicle
- All car models from model year 2015 (some endpoints have limited availability)
- Energy API
- This API works for all plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles which are equipped with Google Automotive System (Google built-in)
- Location API
- XC40 fully electric, model years between 2015 and 2021.
- C40 fully electric, from model year 2022.
- XC60, S90, V90, V90CC and XC40, from model year 2022.

Hej.

Cheers for the clarification Richard.
I got an answer from the volvo dev team which was a bit cryptic:
"
Hej Zakarias,
"
Essentially stating that the previous functionality will be “restored” later on… Well lets hope for the best.
But one question, if my car (s90 2018) is supported by some of the connected vehicle endpoints, can I then add it to the current app? Seems like one of the Volvo-integrations in Home Assistant supports this: Volvo Deprecated API · Issue #139419 · home-assistant/core · GitHub - GitHub - thomasddn/ha-volvo-cars: Volvo Cars integration for Home Assistant.
