Thank you for a great app with lots of possibilites to customize it!

I was wondering if it is possible to add some sort of highlight to the trashcan items when they are displayed on a dashboard if the trash is being picked up tomorrow or today? Some sort of accent color, outline or anything else? Or fex just make the color behind the icons red if today and orange if tomorrow?

Hi @christianeide, that is indeed a great idea. I’ll see what I can do this weekend

Hi, since a few weeks the app is not working anymore. I have reinstalled the app and installed the test version (5.1.6) but still not working. I am using ā€œmijn afvalwijzerā€. I used the app without any problem till now.

Tomorrow the ā€œPMDā€ will be collected. But the app did not recognised it.

Can you go to the settings page of the app and reconfigure your postal code + housenumber there? Often in the new year municipalities switch trash providers. So it might be that yours did as well and you need to reconfigure some settings. Also please check if the ā€œdate settingsā€ is set to ā€œBased on APIā€ for the trash types.

After the reinstall I reconfigure the settings postal code and housenumber. All other settings are ā€œBased on APIā€.

I am using the app for Poland where I have to set the dates myself. I appreciate the functionality to add extra dates. Is it possible to also add possibility to remove some dates in the setup?
The example to make it understand better:

  • Bio is llected every week on Monday (I configured this as ā€œevery Week → Mondayā€
  • BUT due to Eastern it will NOT be collected on Monday Apr. 21st but on Tuesday Apr. 22nd
  • I added the extra date (Apr. 22nd) for Bio collection
  • But it would be great to be able to remove the Apr. 21st date for Bio from the setup, and that is where the functionality of ā€œremoveā€ dates from flow, with higher priority than standard weekly setup will be appreciated
Do you think it will be doable? This way the functionality of the app will be better as it will not display the dates where there is no trash collection.

I encountered an issue with the app. Through a flow, Homey sends a message to my phone reminding me to put the trash bin outside, but today I received the wrong message. Instead of a notification about the organic waste bin, which should be placed outside tomorrow, I got a message about the residual waste bin. At first, I thought the mistake was in my flow, but it works exactly as it should.

I then looked further and found a possible error. In the ā€œdebugā€ section, the residual waste bin contained information about the organic waste bin. Can anyone do something with this? Or am I the only one noticing this?

Hi there, you were not the only one noticing this. See also this issue here on GitHub. It is fixed in the latest test version (5.1.9).

It probably is possible. I have created this issue here on GitHub to track it so it won’t get lost. Don’t know when and if I will have some time for it though. If more people are waiting for this requirement, then please upvote the issue on GitHub. Then I can get the feeling of how big of a demand there is.

Any chance of making manual inputs so I can use it in the US? Thank you!

You can do this in the advanced settings of the app but they don’t advice it.

@Brandon_Wade you can indeed do this through manual inputs in the settings of the app. The reason it is not advised as said by @Iktjilp is because you can mess up the values and might crash the app. But nothing will actually break from trying it. You just might have to try it a couple of times and it is quite hard to maintain.

The advised way to do it is to destile the pattern of the trash collection and enter this through the settings. So e.g. when your garden trash is collected every 4 weeks, enter this as pattern instead of manual dates. You can read more about it here: How to configure Trashcan Reminder 2.0 | com.trashchecker (Working with schedule/manual input). The manual input can be found on the same page.

Here are some flow examples: How to flow with Trashcan Reminder 2.0 | com.trashchecker

Hope this helps!

Is there any update on adding Omrin to the app?

Maybee you can help @MrDutchfighter to give some more info about the service they have.
there should be some info at : Ontdek het gemak van de Omrin Afvalapp | Omrin
And all so some input you get is from your postcode, so give him all so your postcode. That wil help him to.
Then he can use to get the webversion off wenn collected.

Yes, sorry! I replied to Danee’s post, which already included some information about Omrin.
I can DM my postcode if needed, of course!

Hi @MrDutchfighter since a couple of days the trashcan widget displays no trashdates anymore. Deleting and readding the widget in my dashboard didn’t help. I’m usung app version 5.1.7 and homey 2023 version 12.4.1.

Do you have any clue how I can solve this issue?

What trash dates are shown in the debug section on the configuration page of the widget? Are there any dates visible there? And do the flows still work?

Multiple trash dates (o.a. 22-4-2025). Flows are still working. Had to refresh debug information though and after that and restarting the Homey app, it now works again. Does this make sence?

Nope, doesn’t make any sense. But glad it is working again!

Hi

On homey i see in the debug information only GFT not the PAPER
My zippcode is 2992wg

Did i set something up wrong. Used to work

Thanks
