[APP][Pro] Synology

Last question:

Do you know which ports need to be opened between the Homey Pro in VLAN 1 and the Synology in VLAN 2?

@Kimbo i have no idea.

Hey! I’ve updated the Homey Pro and the Synology App, but I can not see any real time data from the Synology. What can I do? Do I need to reinstall the Synology app?

Hey @Plui5
That’s not much to work with

@Hunnets plese send a new report after trying a login

Currently I can’t see what goes erong

@Hunnets

Looks like homey can’t reach your synology. Nothing wrong with the app

so strange - they are on the same nework through unifi. It worked with a Home Assistant integration

might be mDNS related, restart your AP’s and router. The Synology has a reserved IP address?

I’ll give that a go today. Yeop, fixed IP and can access the NAS from my PC on the same network so in theory it should be good to go

I figures it out - might be helpful for other users that encounter the same issue - Had to go into “external access” > “router configuration” on the NAS and input the Port related to Management UI. Once this was updated it connected right away

Hello Hunnets,

That sounds to me like the local data connection is using internet now. It sounds like opening an internal port to anyone @ internet.

I wouldn’t use it as a fix.

What would you suggest?

I honestly can’t tell from here. My Synology connects fine with the app by Martijn, not having changed any setting, and there’s no open ports.

I suspect the issues Homey has with mDNS and devices with changing IP addresses, and or devices hopping between Access Points, resulting in the infamous “Unavailable” status, should be addressed by Athom once and for all.

However, this has been a long time problem, bug if you will; I’m afraid they don’t want to, don’t know how to, or just can’t solve this.

See f.i. the loads of issues related to mDNS with the Homewizard P1 dongle (it’s Homey causing the problems):

@Peter_Kawa Homey Synology app doesn’t use mdns.

@Hunnets you should use the DSM address as your setup. Most of the time a local IP with port 5000

I used local IP just a different port to 5000 and it worked?
