Hi,
I don’t have a ‘Self-Hosted Server’ item on my Android app to add my Synology project :innocent:

Same here, @ricercar. But after updating the Homey app there was.
So, just head over to the Google PlayStore…

The install went great but I am not able to login with my web browser. It seems to be rejecting my credentials. Does it use my homey.app credentials? I have 2FA set for my homey account. Wonder if that could be blocking it?

It works on Synology + IOS

I also had to update the Homey app on my iPad…

(This is an English thread, @buldm01)

I have a Synology NAS with more than enough RAM and diskspace and I just upgraded from my Homey Pro 2019 to Homey Pro 2026. When I install Homey Self-Hosted Server on my Synology NAS will it work together with My Homey Pro and are there any benefits of doing this?

I gett error when i try install on my synology

Build project ‘homey-shs’ failed.

Hi all,

Installed Homey Home Server on my Synology DS224Plus, but cannot find it in the iPhone app.

I am a bit confused about the setting of the subnet. It sets it by default to 172.17.0.1, but my home network is 10.0.0.number. not quite sure if this might be the issue.

From the app on my iPhone I cannot see the newly setup Homer Home Server (it is running in the NAS)

any tips?

Kind regards,

Bob

PS: My modem is connected to the internet and my home router is behind that modem.

You have to update your Homey (Android/iOS) app to (at least v9.6.6) first.

Then you can add your SHS to the Homey app.

The fact that your SHS shows a different VLAN than your home network is, is no problem since your Synology NAS does NAT.
Simply said: your NAS makes sure the two can talk to each other.

thanks, I checked the app version it is v9.6.6

but…

How are you trying to add the SHS?

You should:

  • click on your profile photo (or initials) in the right upper corner
  • Select “My Homey’s”
  • Add Homey and choose SHS. It should be found automatically after a few moments.

Is your phone/tablet WiFi connected to your home network (no guest network or only cellular)?

Where exactly is the problem? Doesn"t the app find your SHS or aren’t you unable to find the option to add it, i.e.?

I am logging in to the app with my Apple ID and start the option Install Homey, then I select the Self-Hosted Server (on my hardware). The app says let’s find your Homey Self Hosted Server and starts searching, but nothing is found.

I have the option to add one manually, but what data to populate in that field? it starts with http://192.168.0.100/4859

ah, I found it I think. I used the ip-address of my Synology 10.0.0.50/4859

it seems to have found the Homey Home Server now:). Thanks for your help

I am also asked if I want to add a Homey Bridge now

I get to “Add new “Homey”. Only choices are: Homey Pro, HP mini, HP previous generation, Add Ons: Homey Bridge and dongle. No option listed which reflects Homey SHS.

Edit: I’m now guessing I need to execute a separate install on a physical network device (Synology NAS) vs that option being menu selectable.

Did you update your Homey (Android/iOS) app to at least v9.6.6, @Dan_Melideo?
The option for SHS is only in that version or above.

I installed the container successfully, but did not get the option to restore a backup.
