I have 3 Homey Self-Hosted Servers in my list of Devices now and only 1 is working. How do I delete the others or at least rename them so I know which one to use?
@Hank_Renting, I did not. It auto installed early this morning, option now available. Thank you
Possible bug?
Installed SHS on my Synology NAS.
Installed the app for Philips hue on my SHS portal..
Restarted the hue app in SHS to reflect some changes I made with the native hue app on my phone, and then all hue devices was unavailable.
Removed the hue app and installed again, after that no new devices was found.
Not possible to add the hue bridge and devices again.
I guess I have to remove the whole SHS from my NASâŠ
This must be a bug?
What happen if the hue app is automatically updated, do we have to fiddle around in the container manager to fix this?
EDIT: it now works, many restart of the SHS in the container manager as well as the NAS itself.
Something is wrong, it should not behave like this after a simple restart of an app.
Anyone else with a Synology NAS and Philips hue app installed?
I just did an upgrade of the container repository (clean and rebuild) and then all the hue devices is gone again.
After 5 stop/restart cycles, it worked again.
Ja klopt was hier ook zo
Great. Please keep it English here, @buldm01.

Has someone connected Matter - Thread to SHS? Whatâs needed? I have SHS on Syno and was wondering how can I add Matter over Thread devices? Would Aqara Hub M3 gateway do the trick?
Hello everyone,
I want to switch from my HP to SHS. I have understand that flows and dashboards canât be migrated from HP. I need to set everything up again on the SHS. The SHS will be lightning fast and very stable.
I can install SHS on a Synology 224+ (DDR4 8GB), or on an Ubuntu Mini PC (Lenovo Mini PC M710Q with an i7 CPU and DDR4 16GB RAM), or on an Unraid Server (with an i7 9700 CPU and DDR4 64 RAM).
Does anyone know if thereâs a way to automatically start SHS Docker Containers after a system reboot on Ubuntu and Synology 224+? Is an automatic backup also possible?
Running it on unraid myself and all you ask is possible there.
Yes, but my Unraid server automatically shuts down at 00:15 on weekdays, until 6:30 in the morning. This is not very convenient for SHS automations. Thatâs why I want to install SHS on my Synology or Ubuntu for 24/7 use.
AFAIK it gets backupped along with your server backup system.
Thereâs no cloud backup available (yet).
.
Thank you Peter, do you have also have experience with the details in Docker Documentation in combination with SHS?
I believe that the Docker containers auto start / backup also can be configured directly in Ubuntu / Synology. Hopefully someone here has experience with this configuration.
YW!
When you donât use
docker run
but use
docker compose (Synology) instead :
The homey-shs.yml already has an entry for auto restart:
.
If youâre interested, you can limit the used RAM;
Edit the .yml and add the lines with deploy: including the memory: line, like the example below;
Optional: The reservations: line is used to make sure thereâs at least X MB available
Optional: the environment: line(s), is used to assign custom port numbers
Example .yml:
services:
homey-shs:
image: ghcr.io/athombv/homey-shs:latest
container_name: homey-shs
deploy:
resources:
limits:
memory: 2048M
reservations:
memory: 1024M
restart: unless-stopped
network_mode: host
environment:
PORT_SERVER_HTTP: "12345"
PORT_SERVER_HTTPS: "54321"
privileged: true
volumes:
- ~/.homey-shs:/homey/user
Fantastic Peter,
I will try on my Synology. Now I have to find out for SHS backup in Synology. Thanks again.
This info will help to backup SHS container in Synology. Thank you Jörg
For installing SHS is 1GB RAM enough, but is that really enough?
On the Homey 2023 PRO is 2 Gb not enough most of the time.
Is the diskswap more to get more RAM or something.
It mainly depends on the number of apps you (want to) use, and on an appâs memory usage at the same time, like,
giga:
Matter bridge 130MB,
little:
Xiaomi Mi Flora 18MB.
Avoid disk swap, due to too many apps, as much as possible. It slows things down, and your SSD / eMMC wears quicker.
Hint: you can disable certain apps, clearing memory. Only enable them when needed:
Apps for like plant monitoring needs to run a minute a day to fetch the sensors
Thatâs correct. There is no way to restore a backup created with other physical Homey models.
