[APP][Pro] Support for ONVIF compatible cameras (Release 2.0.60, Test 2.0.60)

Do you have a Reolink PTZ camera on your NVR?

@Adrian_Rockall will you support rtsp streams with the new honey update and app update

Yes, I have added it to my local install and testing it.

One issues is the stream is only available when the viewing device is on the same local network. Basically, Homey doesn’t get involved with the processing, so the app uses the local RTSP url.

Also there is an issue that closes the app if you rotate the device to landscape mode while viewing the full screen stream.

Great to hear

Hope we can test it soon if you solve the bugs

Maybe can someone help from athom @Doekse

GM @Adrian_Rockall

As (others) mentioned before, the person detection gives multiple notifications when triggered. 8 per detection to be exact. This messes up the flows when using person detection. I have sent you the logs. Hopefully there’s something you can fix. Thanks!

Any update @Adrian_Rockall ?

Athom haven’t fixed the crash yet and I can’t think of a way to get around the only works locally issue.

I will publish a test version soon with these limitations.

Hi adrian, will you bring up the live camera streaming to your app?

Great I really waiting for this function

I have published a new test version with the local RTSP live stream support.

Note: the phone needs to be connected to the same network as the camera as Homey only passes the RTSP stream URL to the phone. That does mean you can’t view the live video when out and about.

I will see what I can do to remedy that in the future.

Great Work!!:hugs:

Will it in the future also possible to use the 2 way audio ?

That depends on Athom implementing the feature in the Homey app

Nice.

Thank it’s working

Strange that it only works with you local family the Google nest app cameras do work outside the network to

That’s because the cameras only provide a local url for the RTSP stream and it’s the phone app that connects directly to the camera.

I will investigate using Homey as a proxy to relay the stream, but I would like to find a way to determine if the phone is on the same network first so it doesn’t put a burden on Homey.

Hi Adrian!

I don’t want to spoil the fun, but is it possible to skip the RTSP part for Pro 2016-2019 models?
All was working well, but now I get this error with the test app version 2.0.55
(both cams are RTSP enabled in favor of H.A.):

When you’d like a diag report, just give me a shout
And as always, no hurries!

Ah, thanks for the heads up, I will take a look.

Coming to think of it, shouldn’t this be an Athom firmware’s job?
If it can detect my Pro 2019 doesn’t support video streams, it should just ignore the cams RTSP output, shouldn’t it?

Little test:
Disabling RTSP on the cam doesn’t make a difference Adrian, the error messages keeps saying “Vids not supported on this Homey”

Side effect: my Reolink cams also disable Onvif when disabling RTSP. So it’s not an option to disable it on the cam itself.

I have published a new test version that checks the Homey version before calling any of the new API functions. Hopefully that gets you back to working again.
