[APP][Pro] Support for ONVIF compatible cameras (Release 2.0.60, Test 2.0.60)

Thanks you for the log. I think I can see the problem. The pre-sets use a token. The device capability fetches those tokens and creates the pick list mapping them to the list pre-set number. When you select an item from the capability, Homey sends the token that was mapped to that number to the app and that is used in the go-to call. However, the flow is just sending the number that is specified, without converting it to a token. For me that works as my camera is using 1, 2, 3, etc as the tokens, but for you, the tokens are 001, 002, 003, etc, so the camera can’t find a match. As it is now coming up to 4am I need to get some sleep as I need to be up at 7am, so I will find a solution this evening when I get back home.

I have published a new test version that should hopefully use the correct token for the selected position.

Hi

I use the test version, everything is working but the PTZ Flow not..

I get the message; invalid capability: PTZ_preset

who can help me? I use a Reolink NVR.

Can you send me the Diagnostics Log from the app settings page.

Hi Adrian,

Person detection stays and working fine. Let me know when do you think you can push this to production? Thank you

Hi @Adrian_Rockall good day to you. The test app is working fine so far. Should we keep using the test one or you will push the fix to the main app?

Who can help me? The PTZ is not working…

I have submitted the test version for review, so it will become live when Athom have done that.

Have you tried the test version?

It will hopefully be live in a few days if you want to wait.

Hi Adrian,

I use the test version. But there is no PTZ option in the ‘camera’

If there is no option to select a pre-set in the device card, then it indicates the camera is not reporting that it supports PTZ.

Could you open the app settings page a select the Diagnostics Log tab. Then set the Log Level to Detailed Information and make sure the log is clear. Then restart the app an allow it a minute to start up. Now go back to the Log page and send the log.

Hello Adrian,

I’m slowly but surely getting desperate. I’ve bought numerous cameras and tried to use them for my needs. In the end, I was never satisfied. Just today I received another camera that I hoped I could integrate into Homey via ONVIF and your app. Contrary to what the description says, the Tapo C425 does not (or no longer) support ONVIF. In connection with your great work on this app I’m sure you can tell me which camera can be integrated with your app. What I need: WiFi, battery operated, should take a snapshot via a flow and send it via email. I hope you can recommend a good camera (I need 5-6). Regarding Reolink, I would still need to know whether you need the Home Hub or an NVR.

Thank You very much!

I haven’t had any experience with battery operated cameras, but Reolink is generally a good option. As they are IP cameras, they don’t require an NVR to work, but may lack some features, such as more advanced object detection when used standalone.

Hi Adrian, till yesterday the app worked great. The person detection worked fine, but sinds yesterday the detection doesn’t work anymore. After a restart of the app it worked a cople houres. The Reolink nvr workes fine. But the detection doesn’t reach the app. I can’t see anything strange in the app.

Hmm, the test version went live yesterday, so maybe a change has broken something.

Could you send the Log from the app settings page as soon as you notice it stops working.

Thanks Adrian.

I just ordered 2 cameras including the Home Hub which seems to be essential to provide ONVIF, as there is no Reolink app.

I hope these will be my last brand of cameras for Homey.

Will report here if everything works, and ask for help if there are issues again.
