[APP][Pro] Support for ONVIF compatible cameras (Release 2.0.60, Test 2.0.60)

Thanks for your fast reply.

If you need any help, we can get in touch. I have some knowledge in dev (very beginning ) so if needed to dev i may help :muscle:

Edit : Did you plan to add the two way speak (through camera) ?

Homey doesn’t have a mic or speaker, so there’s no support for that sort of thing in the Homey app.

Hey

I have a DAHUA video intercom (https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/All-Products/Video-Intercoms/IP-Series/Villa-Door-Station/Pro-Series/VTO2201F-P-S2)

Does it integrate well with this app? And is it possible to have the functionality to open the door remotely, as is possible through the DMSS app?

Thanks

It says it supports ONVIF, so you should be able to an image, but the app has no way to control the door lock.

Hello,

I see some non French translation in the app, may can help you translate it fully ?

That would be good. The app is on GitHub GitHub - AdyRock/com.onvif: Homey app for ONVIF cameras

Do you know how to do a pull request and where to find the places to translate?

I have see the locales folder, but not all translations are in right ?

For pull request, I will look into it

If you look in the .homeycompose folder you will find the capabilities and Flows

Hi,
did you see anything of interrest in my logs?

Hello @Adrian_Rockall , you thinks it’s will be possible to get presets via ONVIF. That way it’s will be like having a PTZ, and the configuration goes only through cam interface (Hikvision, Dahua and others.

What do you think ?

Also, I start translation :ok_hand:

Hello,

I’ve just submitted a pull request with a new version of the code for the app. I added the ability to retrieve presets saved in the camera and use them in Homey. With the new page, you can select which preset to go to, and then create the flow you want.

Here is a screenshot of the preset selection—it works well on my Dahua PTZ camera.

f you need any information, just let me know. :upside_down_face:

I will try to review it tomorrow. Thanks for your support.

Perfect thank you. I think there will be many code which you will not use because I dont know well all the code you allready made.

Have nice day :+1:

First of all, thanks for the great ONVIF Camera app for Homey! I came across an earlier forum post where you mentioned looking into sending audio via Profile T, and I was wondering if you’ve had a chance to explore this further.

It would be amazing if Homey could send audio to Profile T-compatible cameras, for example, to enable intercom functionality or play a sound clip when the doorbell is pressed. i have googled some information that might be of help:

  • Profile T supports AAC/G.711/G.726 audio.
  • ONVIF provides API methods such as SetAudioSourceConfiguration and StartAudioTransmission to send audio.
  • Most cameras use RTSP with interleaved RTP or RTSP over TCP for audio transmission.

Possible use case:

  • Trigger: Doorbell is pressed.
  • Action: Homey plays “Please leave the package in the blue bin” through the camera speaker.

Since I know this has been discussed before, I’d love to hear if you’ve had any further thoughts on this or if you think it’s feasible. Let me know if I can help with testing or provide more details!

More information:

Thanks, and I look forward to your response!

I have published a new test version that support PTZ presets.
Thanks go to @Flavien317 for providing the pull request.

That wouldn’t be possible because there is no way to get the audio from Homey and we don’t have that control over the phone app to use the microphone.

This may be possible, but I would need to find some method for the sound file to be stored in Homey. I will be perfectly honest and say I don’t see me finding time for this anytime soon. If you have any ideas on how to implement it then feel free to provide a pull request for me to include.

would it be possible to leverage the “soundboard” app ? i would happily pay for a reolink doorbell if you dont have a test unit

Maybe possible, but time is my enemy. With my wife undergoing chemotherapy, life is a bit hectic ATM.
