According to Solaredge support they have disabled it again…
Guess I will have to cable it instead.
Thanks! It works.
Is there a simple way to poll every 5 minutes (for example) that the grid status changes?
I have to start the flow manually now.
Is it possible to control the time of use (TOU) for my Huawei Sun2000 battery and the active power control (enable/disable export) in the inverter using this app, if so, is there any documentation on how to do this?
change trigger should be activated when it changes. no need for polling.
last probably when you have meters installed. but huawei and s-dongle is a tough combination requires a lot of retries , don’t overload it with commands.
Ok, thanks for your support Edwin!
Both, but it’s really a small issue so I’ll use the template for 2x of each. Thanks!
@Edwin_Biemond , than you so much for this app.
I was lucky that I came across this app, now I can read-out my SolarEdge SH4000 without display by TCP over LAN. Fully local, no cloud needed anymore!
Does anyone know if the Sigenergy system works fully local, as in I can read data and control the system without any internet connection?
it should , just added it maybe you have to use the test version of this qpp. full control I don’t know because I rely on their owners. I don’t have 1
Thinking about investing in a system from them and would like to know the possibilities and limitations. The current system I have with Huawei I can read all data and at least manually control everything since I have installer access. But Sigenergy is a unknown for me and would like to know which access one can assume to get and if everything works local only without access to the cloud.
First of all, thanks a lot Edwin for this beautiful app.
Maybe my question was discussed before, but I couldn’t find the answer.
Question: I have a Growatt MOD5000TL3-XH without a battery or Growatt meter. To save costs I am looking for two possibilities with the Homey:
- I like to be able to set the output power of the Growatt from a Homey flow. In this way I can use the information from the P1 port to regulate the power of the Growatt in order to deliver less power back to the grid. This is probably the Growatt “Set Active Power ratio” parameter.
- When I choose a dynamic energy contract, the option to turn on and off the Growatt from a Homey flow can also be a great solution. Then I can write a flow to turn the Growatt off when energy prices are negative.
Is something like this possible with this app? I have tried to achieve this with the existing “Export Limit” setting, but then the Growatt ends up with a “Warning 401” on the display. You apparently cannot use the “Export Limit” without an external meter or CT.
sigenergy is upcoming and works better than a s-dongle . So local access will always works, no worry about that . it is more the hybrid part , always check the modbus docs and its RW registers when you want to add a battery. For that I am not so impressed.
any reason why you don’t look at Growatt ?
yes , they don’t trust you set the current export value. only see it on with home batteries with a plug , they have some p1/smart meter device integration.
I think you can set some active power but do this based on 5 or 15 min average values . inverters are not build for changing this values every x seconds. let the inverter handle this with its modbus meter.
I have gotten a pretty good deal for the Sigenergy system and it seems to be up and coming as in they seem to integrate and add support for new things all the time. I also like their expandable stack and V2G module.
Hi Edwin, thanks a lot for your reaction. I didn’t know inverters don’t like multiple changes in a short time. So I will wait 5 till 15 minutes as you suggest. I give it a try next weekend!
Hello
I do own a Huawei inverter SUN2000-8K-LC0 (without battery) which has a native WiFi connection.
I can’t get data from the inverter and I am not sure about:
- the parameters on the APP : PORT and Inverter ID.
- if I have to activate anything in the Huawei FusionSolar App (I do have installer access) on which I could not find any Modbus option.
Thabk you in advance for your help, I am lost !
Regards
Ronan
hey, not sure if it needs the s-dongle. https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/intl/en/thread/modbus-tcp-guide/667250677153415168?blogId=667250677153415168
I am using this app with a Sigenstore battery. I dont have PV on the sig energy inverter, only the battery.
However in the energy tab the device registers as PV only, so the graphs are wrong.
Is it possible to register the sigenergy as battery instead of PV?
Thanks!
Dear All,
Successfully using the app on my Growatt MIN 3600 TL XH using battery, meter, modbus gateway and wifi shinelink.
From day one I wish to install the EPS backup box, as per standard Growatt available. It needs to ‘talk’ through modbus. The connector of the inverter is already occupied, as shown below.
As I read the MODBUS technicals, it should be possible to parallel connect other modbus devices but prior to purchase the backup, I need to know for sure. Is there anyone who can tell me IF parallel connected modbus devices are possible and second, how to define master, slave and ID numbers. As I see this, the backup box need to be pinned with 3 and 4, now used for the
Modbus RTU/TCP Gateway USR-W610
