[APP][Pro] SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus

You need modbus enabled and TLS off

I have my EMMA working now, but the Emma is giving me all the data, in the energy tab the inverter power is used as solar power, so even the battery is shown as solar power. Any chance to correct this behavior?

forget about energy tab. homey still need to do something for inverter with battery and meters.

Hi Edwin, is it possible to create an adjustable field for the export limit? Currently, there are pre-set values that you have to choose from. However, with a 25A house connection, you can export 230x25=17250 W, and that is not one of the options. (SolarEdge inverters)

Hi Jonas, have you got this working in the Homey app now. I got the same setup as you but get no readings from the inverter to homey. Not sure how to troubleshoot.

hey , what are the values you want ? it was more it breaks current triggers.

hey did you configure your sdongle correctly ? you can send me a diagnostic report.

but there are some guides on the internet for home assistant etc to enable modbus. plus s-dongle can only handle 1 connection at the time .

Why not a fillable field here? Anyway, adding 17250 would already be nice.

Thank you for your response Edwin.
I have enabled (unrestricted) MODBUS in the s-dongle. Not sure what else i need to do. Not sure what IP adress to use so i used the one i could find among the communication settings in the s-dongle.

Here is the report: 46ee9591-eecd-473b-87a4-a13fe09741b4.

I dont think i use modbus for anything else so i guess 1 connection is fine…

Thank you!

Hey @Edwin_Biemond , thanks for your great work on this plugin so far, I’ve been using it with my Sungrow solar panels/batteries for months now without any bugs or issues!

I do have a question about the new energy tab. Sorry if this has been answered yet somewhere, but I wonder if supporting home batteries in the energy tab is something that requires a few modifications on your end by implementing new properties (as per documentation here) or whether there are other issues preventing you from supporting home batteries in the energy tab…

hey, they need to come with a solution for inverters because they can also have meters and batteries.

most of the brands have total import , export , same for total battery charge and discharge but I have no way to define them .

will do

can you try this SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus | Homey

Have a question/idea that might have been upp but ill ask it anyway even thow it might sound dum. What makes it that it cant be seperated as a battery device? Wouldnt it just be to add a device specificly for battery and use the bat data from the inverter device to the battery and set the correct values and classes?

Works great, Thanx!

Met vriendelijke groet,

Hi all,

anyone knows if the: inepro metering pro380-mod is compatible with the SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus App.
if yes, then how should i add the modbus to my homey to be able to monitor the export/import energy from my Inverter

Thanks
TM

you need to check if your inverter supports this metering device. not much to do with homey.

It looks you are talking about two devices. A power meter and your invertor.
When a device supports Modbus, you can try the Modbus app to read and set the parameters you need.
pro380-mod Is not mentioned in the SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus app, so (probably) no. But you can alway try.

Hi Adwin, thank you for your reply.
The Inverter (SolarEdge) support the specific pro380-mod, in SolarEdge application I have the consumption data.
