[APP][Pro] Solar Forecasts (SolCast + Forecast.Solar)

I vote for solcast also.
In home assistant I can monitor Forecast.Solar also and that one is (way) less accurate.
I have the experience that, for me, solcast has a better prediction for all day and adjusts (better) during the day.

Hi
How do i combine the 2 sites to one total value?
Want to use the sum of the 2 arrays to get a more ā€œrealā€ forecast, have 2 directions, south and west. Must be rather simple, but can’t find it.

Just use a variable and make a flow to make the sum of those values. (which triggers when one of them changes)

ok thx
can you share an example picture?

FYI the Solcast API is down at the moment.

Hm, strange, for me it looks like its’s working (calls at 2:00, 8:27, 10:00 and 12:00 were reported as OK and capabilities are being updated)

Hi,

I followed all the steps for Solcast (register, add values of my PV system,…) and I have an API Key & resource ID.

I also set up the flow for the ā€œfetch solcast updateā€.

Unfortunately I get API errors:

Any toughts?

Regards,
Tim

I’m in the same boat. I’m not even able to see the error message to troubleshoot…

Send me a diagnostic report and I will check

I retract my statement, it does work now. I don’t now, I waited a few days and created a flow for ā€œFetch Midnight updateā€. It seams that just pressing the on/off button on the device itself wasn’t working to get updates (instead it showed the error) after the device creation.

Is Forecast.Solar down? As of 15:00 today I’m no longer receiving any data

Nope, it’s running still fine.

Any idea what could be wrong? I’ve also tried creating a new Forecast.Solar device, but it still doesn’t pull any data in :x

Try a homey reboot, that sometimes fixes a lot of things.
Or wait a day.

If it doesnt work send me a diagnostics report

@Pieterv123 Reset the app, rebooted Homey, but still no dice… API calls are OK, but no information is coming in. Weird, because it’s been working great for 9 months now.

It has nothing to do with the app, but Forecast.Solar returns: invalid location

you check with your location: https://api.forecast.solar/check/4.8/52.36

Huh; that’s weird. Where is the app getting the coordinates from? If I check the location of Homey, it shows a correct pin

Or is it a problem with Forecast and these specific coordinates…

Mhhh. It also gives an error if I need it the coordinates to Amsterdam Central Station

Looks like there’s an issue with Forecast.Solar then?

I think so. It uses the location of Homey.
I cannot check for the moment as my Homey is dying…
