Yeah, I’ve tried coordinates for multiple European cities but they all throw a ‘does not exist’, while coordinates in Africa or the USA work without issues🤔
@pieterv123 More info: since yesterday apparently Homey is reporting the latitude and longitude reversed?
According to your diagnostics, my Homey is making a call with
https://api.forecast.solar/check/4.899431/52.379189
But it should actually be
https://api.forecast.solar/check/52.379189/4.899431
Maybe make the coordinates a manual configuration field for the app? So we can set it ourselves?
@Emile Could it be that the lat and lon are reversed on Homey since a few days?
There is a new version and Forecast.Solar should work again
Legend! What was the issue?
I asked the forecast.solar devs.
I switched the lat and lon, so maybe their api changed. Because it is strange it worked fine all the previous months
Or Homey was wrong all the time, no clue ![]()
Thanks, I was having the same problem. It seems to be solved now!
Hi Pieter,
I have been using Solcast since you first released the app and it has always worked like a charm.
But since a couple of days I get no updates at all (more or less). I always had a fetch midnight flow working perfecly but now, nothing.
My Homey has automatic restarts twice a week so that’s not a problem.
You got any ideas?
Kr
Anders
Maybe share diag. log from the app, then developer can say anything about that - btw for me it’s still working fine
@Anders_Gunnarsson my solcast call is working without problems also. It must be something on your side. Is your account still ok (not blocked?). Maybe you can check this on solcast website https://toolkit.solcast.com.au/
Send me a log and I can check
Hello Pieter, for some reason the forecast did not get fetched in the course of this morning. I’ve regenerated the API Key, used the present Rercource ID from my solar installation on the Solcast website, updated the forecast, did not get an reply. I also used the ‘button’ in the Solcast App, no answer either? Can you please check this diagnostic report please?

Error 429, looks like solcast api is offline
Nothing I can do for the moment
Hello Pieter, according to the Solcast website, their API is fully operational. Are you able to retrieve updates yourself? Anyone else experiencing issues? When I use the JSON on the Solcast website and fill it in the browser, it does respond with an answer. Though, not 100% confident the JSON is a correct answer. Can you check please? Thanks, Norbert
Sorry 429 is too many requests, try again tommorrow.
Ok, I hope that after 00 UTC, when the number of API-requests (10 times / day) gets ‘reset’, it will be resolved (when doing the midnight update).
Cheers,
Norbert
Ok thanks, forecasts got back. Last night it occured again. At 0:15 UTC (2.15 Dutch time) the daily forecast is being fetched & updated. Normally at 00 UTC the maximum number of API requests/day (10 times for me) gets reset to zero. My guess is that sometimes this occurs a little later as I can not think of other reasons for exceeding the maximum API requests/day. There are no other flows asking for Solcast-updates.I’ve rescheduled the Midnight update to 0:20 UTC.
Indeed, it is written in the readme.
‘Fetch Midnight’ : This updates the Today and Tomorrow values
(according Solcast the API calls reset at UTC, in my personal experience it is UTC+4 = 02.00LT CEST)
Quick question, which service provides the most reliable data? Solcast or Forecast Solar? At the moment there is quite a difference between the two. (11.6 / 5.8 kWh today)
With Forcast Solar I see an update every hour. Not with Solcast. How does it work at the moment? Because if I go through this topic, there have been the necessary changes.
Some best practice tips?
