Hi there,
I am experiencing many false positives with my mom’s android phone.
It works very well when she connects / disconnects with my network, but sometimes I have the notification of her phone connected / disconnected when she is not at home.
Setting are exactly the suggested ones:
Please send the logs with those details, when this problem occurs, ideally including the IP of the particular phone, include also frequency, eg. every day/multiple time a day ? Does your router assign static IP addresses for that particular phone ?
Version 0.9.0 — Added translations for all supported languages, fixed the “First Kid” and “First Guest” triggers, and enhanced logging to handle edge cases.
@SbrinzAworlD , can you send log again when you will experience those false detections ? Please include your nickname or description of the problem. @Zara@Wilfried_Vriens for your previously reported problems, if you experience again the same issue,
please include your nickname or description of the problem.
I have a weird behavior with this app. If I’m away for a little while, I’m marked as away and never marked as home again. Have to do it manually then.
Here’s the timeline.
11:48 I left home.
11:53 disconnected from router.
12:02 I arrived back home.
12:06 connected to router.
12:12 got marked as ‘left the home’ in Homey.
I’ve got a static IP for my phone set in the router and MAC-adress not changing in the phone. My settings attached below.
Please share the log including the english description of the device and the timeline, ideally replicating the behavior, eg. in case you have many devices the logs might be not long enough to see what happened.
Hi, I don’t know how to find the log.
The most interesting thing is that I’m marked as away 6 minutes AFTER coming home and reconnecting to my router. It seems that the app already decided to mark me as away and then does it without checking with the router again…?
Apologizes, I meant share the log using Smart Presense App - Settings - Create diagnostic report. Without seeing what exactly got detected, it’s hard to say, however the detection works for several thousands of devices, so it will be something specific to your setup.
I have two wireless networks, each using both 2,4GhZ and 5Ghz. So; four different logical networks for the smartphones to connect to. The networks are joined together so Homey will see you no matter where you connect. I have set dedicated IP adress for the phones but now I realize that the phones present a different Mac adress to each network and I have to assign a fixed IP adress to each network for each user. Is there a way to assign different IP adresses to each user in Smart Presence?
Alright - thanks; I could possibly assign the samme SSID/password to both routers. Maybe the iphones will stay on the same mac address then? And also restrict the phones to the 2,4Ghz band to reduce the options a little bit
It’s been 7 hours since the app updated to 0.9.1. I’ve never had a single false trigger of being away for a year or two, but I’ve had 15 false triggers in the last 7 hours.
