[APP][Pro] Power by the Hour: Insights per hour, day, month and year

Thx 4 the feedback. I’m working on Major app update behind the scènes. But it is a lot of work. I need to fix the day ahead pricing rate limit issues with entsoe first. I’m setting up my own cloud server to act as buffer and fast price update delivery system.

Thanks for the info. I do not see this device Solar Total Energy Today. Should it be in the PBTH app?

YW!
That device is the group device I created myself in order to sum both inverters. I tried to show it by both arrows

New test version 7.0.6 is available Power by the Hour | Homey

  • added entsoe_gruijter
  • improved entsoe
  • homey-api@3.16.0

This implements a new source for Day Ahead Pricing. I created and run my own dedicated cloud server that buffers the ENTSOE price data and distributes it to all Homey PBTH users. I have requested an official registration as power data consumer. This enables me to get the price info actively pushed from ENTSOE immediately when they change. So it is different from the (still implemented) pull API used before. Real-time pushing of new prices to PBTH users still needs more implementation by me though.

This should resolve the issues with fetching prices from ENTSOE due to heavy rate limiting.

It is still in testing phase. The availability of my server should be very high, but let’s see

If you want to support the maintenance of the PBTH app, and support running my own high-available cloud server for PBTH, you can always donate once a year (or even donating just once helps!)

That is wonderful! Many thanks for this huge effort, again.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Will this also work for 15-min intervals?

Two thoughts:

  1. Your stable version seems very old. If you now make major changes, perhaps update the stable version?
  2. I would like to have an option to push my own prices (unsupported country or supplier) into a custom DAP (I do not mean the virtual summariser option). Is that an option for you?

yes

When I feel the test version is stable enough I will push it to stable. Needs a lot more work though!

Not really. You already can push the current price to PBTH devices.

Please note (7.0.6): 15-min prices for DAP EE Estonia show as .1395 but spot market shows .2711
Update: and they are not updating.

I cannot find this, what does it do?

I understood the arrow part, not how to create such a device yourself. Can this not be added to the PBTH app?

That’s what I explained in the earlier post, Marcel

The 15-minute prices are working correctly, but the 60-minute prices are no longer working. Did something change? Are other users experiencing this issue as well?

Thank you for this change / fix but isn’t better to provide us option to use our own API key ? Or any particular reason why not to implement it….frankly running your own server, while I know how it works with donations with Homey apps… is it worth the hassle ?

Using latest TEST version ? [APP][Pro] Power by the Hour: Insights per hour, day, month and year - #3455 by Gruijter

Yes, also tried the official version, without any succes. Hours working for you?

Hours prices are also not working for me today. Same price every hour. Using version V7.0.6. Any solution?

Installing the official version V6.7.2 also does not help getting the correct hour prices.

Version 7.1.0 is ready for testing: Power by the Hour | Homey

  • Disabled entsoe_gruijter
  • New api key entsoe
  • Many stability improvements

DEEP SIGH :face_with_bags_under_eyes:

Entsoe keeps disabling the new interface I implemented. Will have to get to their support desk to find out what is going on. In the mean time I disabled the new service, and implemented a fresh API key for the ‘old’ Entsoe interface. And I implemented many (many) stabilty improvements.

Hope this keeps PBTH running stable for now.

New app version 8.0.0 is ready for testing: Power by the Hour | Homey

  • Complete refactoring
  • Improved stability
  • Reduced price fetching rate limit issues

This is a major overhaul of the entire app code. Over the years the app code has grown to be extremely difficult to maintain. This refactoring restructures the code, making it much easier for future maintenance. It already resulted in some further stability improvements.

Ok, count me in as a user, bit overwhelmed by all the options though..

For now just created a PBTH device and a Power summarizer. And added the overhead cost for ANWB energie.

Oh, and changed start new year to end/startdate of my contract and day/month/year start

I have an issue with my current contract, I got a yearnota on 15-10-2025 due to removal of the Gas.

So started again at that date dut contract ends 01-06-2026, not sure how to enter values of the meters now…

Seeing ANWB dynamic prices i wish it was 01-06-2026 allready though…
