[APP][Pro] Midea - Midea HVAC Solutions - Smart climate controls

Midea App for Homey | Homey

Today I submitted my first homey app. The app supplies support for Midea based airconditioners that make use of a EUOSK105 wifi module. It is using a local UART protocol and needs an MSmartHome account.

It does discover devices on the local subnet and each individual selected device needs to be logged in using an MsSmartHome account (email address) and password.

It acts as a thermostat with indoor and outdoor temperature measurements and therefor shows up in the climate controls section.

It is tested against 4 different split unit Carrier airconditioners.

Will work on it more to polish it and add flow support as well.

very nice ! thank you.

So far works great (minimal testing).

Not going so well for me. I can add my AC units but then they show an error:

Adding them to my Homey Pro 2019.

fetch is not defined looks like a version issue. The underlying fetch is part of the standard node package as of a later version of node. It works on my Homey Pro 2023. Maybe it has something to do with being a older Homey. I will see what I can do.

The good thing is that it has discovered devices and an AC has been added. This basically means that fetch has been executed at least once.

Got it… I am using the default fetch from node, which has been added in the standard node as of version 18. Homey Pro uses version 16. I will change it. Need to resubmit.

The fetch error has gone but now I get

Did you login using a MSmartHome account?

Yes, and logging in seems to work. When I entered the wrong password it failed, but when it is correct it continues.

Hi!
Nice work!
I have a Kaisai AC but the wifi module is presenting itself as “GD Midea Air-Conditioning”, I did try to add it to my Homey. I can find the AC/wifi module but I can´t login and thats probably because the APP I´m using on my iPhone is called “NetHome Plus”. Do you think it would be possible to implement this?
Best Regards
Kristofer

Login requires an MSmartHome account. I don’t have any other account and cannot try it out. You could upgrade to MSmartHome. Midea will enforcs it in the upcoming future anyway.

THANK YOU!!! MAGIC it works! I have been waiting a long time for this

I have sent a diagnostics log: 5b75273f-f435-4422-8078-3b77a20fa22e

I noticed crashes on the Midea app, because of the fact that devices seem to get different IP addresses. I am currently working on this. but it can be fixed by making sure the devices have fixed IPs.

(Update) the update of today fixed the issue, the app itself is just awesome! Once more thanks :saluting_face:p

First of all many thanks for your app

I installed it immediately and connected my four airco’s - initially connection works well but after detecting the device and logging finally I end up with the status below and repair results in the same outcome…

Which extra info can I provide you with ideally?

I’m up and running with my Midea AC branded “Kaisai” and it seems to work great. Suuuuper thanks! I’ve been waiting for an integration like this.

One question, is it possible to get a flow card like:
“When outdoor temp changes” and “when indoor temp changes”?

Would be awesome if it’s be possible, then you can create a virtual temp sensor device as part of the climate control for a dashboard that could display outdoor temp and living room temp for example

Hi,
I’ve several airco units (airwell) which came with a NetHome Plus USB wifi dongle.
Now trying to get these connected to my homey pro using this midea air app, which does not seem to work. When I try to add device in homey, I get the option to select airconditioning, but when I press connect, returns with a no new devices found message prety quickly.
Any idea how to get this working ?

p.s: After quite some trial and error, I have been able to connect using the NetHomePlus app.

Hello, I can’t make connections to the Midea air conditioner, it recognizes the devices but they say “device unavailable cannot initialize device” I repair it, it accepts email and password, but I can’t use it. What could I be doing wrong?
