Hi Edward I have exactly the same items, not all information is showing up. Additionally I have the IF card “the power is changed” not responding and fully static. The working indication “gridcurrent” / “netstroom” are variable but I can’t find the matching IF flow card. I hope you can help out. I’m having 3 x venus V3 5,1 kWh using local API all CT MST-SMR_5150 using the local API / polling 60s or 120s doens’t make the difference; Swithing off the broadcast is even loosing 2 extera parameters “energy” and “temperature”. The Marstek cloud connetion works well . Best regards Danny
Almost all messages I’m currently receiving and I’m replying to seem to indicate the same problems. The local API of the battery stops functioning after a while. If you have contacted Marstek on this problem and you have installed the latest firmware, unfortunately there is not much I can do… Some features of the local API have even stopped returing data, depending the firmware version.
I’m about to give up and thinking of removing the local API communication altogether if the problems keep rolling in, it is currently taking a lot of time to answer each message and process diagnostics reports… ![]()

May I make a suggestion? I understand that you must be going crazy from all the reports and messages saying it doesn’t work, while there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it yourself. It’s Marstek’s API that performs poorly in relation to the hardware.
But perhaps two alternatives could offer a solution?
- Use the local API only for sending commands. For example, I put the batteries on standby when my EV charger starts charging my car, or I discharge the batteries before negative energy pricing kicks in, and so on. This always works! Perhaps a combination could be made with the Cloud API for reading data (with a guest account), which actually works quite well.
- Could a Bluetooth device be added to the Homey app? The Bluetooth apps available for Marstek seem to work well.

What i did for a workaround, since the API of one battery kept crashing:
I created an extra user in the app of Marstek and shared the batteries with that user.
Than i added the batteries to Homey as a cloud service. This way i can read the filling of that battery. Excluded from energy.
I also added them as local but without refresh. This way i can set what the status must be of a battery. Thus set it to idle, or chared. Keep them excluded from energy.
Then i put a KWh meter in between the batteries and measure the power. Type is battery, so homey sees it as a battery.
Not ideal, 9 devices for 3 batteries, but hey, it works for now.
I still do not get the passive mode for x watt for x time. What does it do? And what happens if the time has passed? Does it stay idle (it looks like it).
All, I’ve implemented a Bluetooth communication driver into the app, but I’m having problems with my Homey model to connect to the battery. Can some of you help me find out if this is an issue on my side, or a limitation of the Bluetooth hardware used by Homey.
If you have access to Homey Developer Tools - Can you please connect to a battery (if listed) and use ‘Discover Services’ button and see if the ‘Advertised service uuids’ shows and array of unique IDs?
If that shows anything with some of you, then it is worth releasing…

I am not sure what the Blutooth lock does in the app. But it is enabled, and i still can see them.

Thank you for the quick feedback! I’ve also upgraded to the latest experimental firmware version, and I now have working BLE connection and data retrieval! It needs some polishing, but I’ll try to release as soon as possible in the TEST channel for you to try!
I’ve also implemented several flows that allow to reset the battery, will be included in the BLE release!
The empty array square brackets after Advertised service uuids shows the problem I was also having. I’ve upgraded to the last experimental firmware version, and they now show. Please read the experimental disclamers before upgrading…
My Marstek Venus 3 homebattery shows up in the Energy tab, but without the power being used or produced and without the lines going to or from the battery. It does show the state of the battery, the kWh loaded, unloaded and current kWh load.
I use the Homey app version 0.91 and battery version v148.
I think the API of the Marstek is to shitty to read near real time values. I just use the app to switch modes directly, connected via this app and via the Marstek Cloud to get values like how much load is in the battery and measure the power used inline.
I think they use really cheap boards in it. The Wifi is bad (it picks the freaking wifi in the utility closet with one bar while there is an accesspoint in the mesh that is 3 meters away.).
Sending 2 commands within 5 seconds crashes the API or makes the battery loose the P1..
So i do not let the app fetch data via auto refresh but let it send commands
I read the amount of charge via the Marstek cloud with the same app.
I read power supply/consuming via an external power meter. And than you get scared. The amount of times one battery is charging the other is far from zero.
Since I use the Homey app version 0.91 of Marstek Venus connector the API looks more stable. I have lowered the polling interval from 60 to 15 seconds. When the battery seems to loose the P1, I restart the Marstek app on my iPhone, login again, click on the P1 to get it going, and the click the battery, and then the battery is connected again to the P1. So the Marstek app on the iPhone is bad too.
I did not have the Marstek loose is P1 anymore with my setup. It is the polling of the API that does something quirky in the Marstek and than loses is P1.. That bug is all over the internet.
15 seconds is very low. Why not 60 seconds polling?
I want to poll it every 1 seconds to be in sync with the measurements of the power of the 3 phases, which I display on a Awtrix 3.0 display.

Do you query the API over modbus or some other method? As I have the issue that the P1 meter is lost and the battery goes offline in the Marstek iPhone app, I was considering connecting over modbus. But if that fails too, it would be useless. It is a shame because the Marstek hardware is pretty decent. (Using a Venus V2 here)

I’ve had the same issue; the local API does not play well with others at the same time (like P1 and Homey together) on the V2.
I’m going to check if something has changed in the Homey Energy tab requirements; because I was under the impression that it was shown there. Homey Apps can only use certain Homey capabilities; and those are then used by Homey in Energy tab. I will check the status in the SDK in the coming week…
