[App][Pro] HomeKitty 😸 (aka HomeyKit 3.0)

Hi,
Since Homepod mini 17.1 the honekitty devices went to offline.
I have restarted homey and homepod as well.

2019 homey 10.0.2 with homekitty 2.2.11

In apple home app i can see the bridge as accessory is not responding.

Before 17.1 homepod update everythink worked.
Anybody else similar experience?

Solved. He issue was the homepod changed wifi and network with the update.

Good morning.
I’ve first got homey just to bridge devices into HomeKit. Now it’s more interesting to try homey and just “show” devices in HomeKit. First I tried “experiments” And I must say most of the devices went smooth.
Then I tried homekitty and that was even better from the beginning.
After just a few hours I noticed that devices was showing the wrong state in HomeKit. Also my tado air conditioner showed a different temperature
So to be clear, devices from homey experiment are showing the correct state (devices that are On is shown as On, and Off as Off) but the exact same devices at the same time from homekitty are many (not all devices) showing On when they are Off.
is this a bug still? Or has it to do with anything else?
Can I do something to get better result?

It’s not a bug.

It might caused by running both the experiment and HomeKitty simultaneously or, if you have any, one or more of your home hubs (Apple TV, HomePod) are causing problems (usually fixed by rebooting them).

Yes you’re probably right about running both experiment and homekitty. Do I have to remove the experiment totally, or can I just exclude devices from HomeKit from experiment? And what about Tado? How the temperature be 2 degrees wrong ( the difference is between what says on the display/tado app/ HomeKit - and homekitty)
I really would like that one to work. HomeKit finds it difficult to activate the same device that triggers it. Ex. If temp on Tado goes below 19,5- turn on heat on Tado to 22 degrees.

You have to completely stop the experiment.

As for showing a wrong temperature: that’s probably because it’s not being updated. HomeKitty only passes Homey data to Home, it doesn’t change it.

Hi! Just got my Homey Pro 2023 and aim to use Homekit as the “controller” for the rest of the family. Seems like a great app. I can’t seem to get my Sonos system to work though (Beam and One). They appear in my Homekit app, but it is displayed as “Not supported” right under accessory name. Tried searching for issues with Sonos in this thread, but could not find any.

You can create an issue for that on Github: Sign in to GitHub ¡ GitHub

That template will ask for information that I need to debug the issue. But be aware that speaker support in Homey (and therefore HomeKitty) is limited.

Homey camera support is very limited, and therefore HomeKitty’s camera support is, too.

Hi!

So I am a grateful user of the homekitty app and it was working very well ( or actually is working )

So I am running v2.2.7 on a HP2023 with multiple Apple devices with IOS 17.x.x and just upgraded the HomeKit architecture… and that’s the problem because I was not using an Apple TV or HomePod. And can’t share my devices with anyone in my home.

I already did downgrade my HomeKit architecture and reset and re connected the homekitty app. It works for 1 device now ( the admin’s device)

Everyone was using the Apple app as primary app for controlling switches and stuff, so it is quite inconvenient it not longer works for everyone.

Are there people with the same problems, and maybe solutions?

I don’t know what is going on but all of my Homekitty devices are ‘unreachable’ since this morning. Not sure if iOS 17.2 has anything to do with it.
Restart of the app and Homey doesn’t do anything.

Did you reboot any Home hub devices (Apple TV or Homepod)? Does your Homey have a fixed IP address?

Any, but not all. Although, I think they did because of the 17.2 update. Homey has a fixed ip, like almost any device on the network.

There’s nothing inherent to 17.2 that causes HomeKitty to stop working, it’s still working fine for me. Devices being unreachable pretty much always a local issue.

That is good to hear. iOS 17.2 did some weird things here, certain hubs are unreachable, Siri is being a bigger bitch than ever.
I think I’ll delete the Homekitty hub and reconnect it to my home app then.

I have a weird issue that happens to me twice.

When Homey updates itself, it seems HomeyKit will suddenly “die” (for lack of a better word), and the HomeKitty app will have to be restarted. After restarting, all my devices seem to be recognized as new devices in HomeKit and they have to be added to the Scenes/Automation again.

It happened to me twice, the first one was to 10.0.3, and yesterday was to 10.0.4.

Any ideas?

I am on iOS 17.2 and Homey Pro (2016)

It sounds like you need to configure the “Delay after reboot” option in the app configuration:

Especially with older Homey’s it takes a while after a reboot for all devices to be configured, and the method that HomeKitty is using to wait for that doesn’t always work. I would suggest using a minimum of 300 seconds (5 minutes).

Thank you  let me try!

Dear @robertklep ,

Since the last update v2.2.7, the BOLD Smart Lock is not supported anymore.

Any chance to get it back? Thanks!

Support for this lock was added in v2.2.9, so you need to run the test version of the app.
