[App][Pro] HomeKitty 😸 (aka HomeyKit 3.0)

Thanks apologies I am very new here. How do I get to the HomeKitty app settings page?

Many thanks. All done and working correctly. I much prefer your interface for setting whether they are seen or not so much easier and quicker to selecting each device/settings etc.

Hello,

The Nodon SIN-4-FP-21 pilot wire heating module is correctly recognized by the Nodon app on the Homey 2026 box.

However, the module is not showing up on HomeKit via HomeKitty. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Thank you for your feedback.

Hi,

Seems like HomeKit is only updated - when Homekitty is the author of the request.

So if I turn on the light from Homey, Homekit is not updated.
If I update from HomeKit, Everything works as it should.

Is this by design - or am i missing something?

No, this isn’t by design, and likely a local issue. Try restarting any Home hubs that you might have (like Apple TV’s or HomePods).

Hm.

The restart of my Apple TV helped for 2 hours. Now it’s back to one way communication.

Any other ideas?

No, sorry.

I’m not a HomeKitty user (yet), so this may not be helpful. But since you seem to be running out of ideas…

Recently I had some issues with one of my AppleTV devices. My switch was always disabling the port because of STP, although I had no redundant paths on my home network. Also, the AppleTV device of the AppleTV and HomePod app on Homey kept on crashing.

It was unclear to me what caused this, but at some point in the past I did switch the AppleTV’s and also switched their names.

I finally ended up doing a factory reset of both of my AppleTVs. Now the network issues are gone and the problematic device no longer crashes.

thats what i wrote last year since test version 2.3.4 , homey don not polling updates to the homekitty app after 30 minutes , thats not a local problem , i habe the same errors on homey 2023 with 2.4.4 on my homey 2018 with 2.3.4 only once a month the app crashes that was okay , i have testet several combinations , and every time the same error that devices are not polling longer to homekitty app. but nice to see that i am not alone with this

Version 2.3.4 has only a very minor change since v2.3.3, so it cannot be related to that specific version. Also, this isn’t a well-known issue, so it’s not something inherent to HomeKitty.

Both Homey and HomeKit are not very stable products, and there are lots of things that can cause this that fall beyond the control of HomeKitty. Often it’s caused by a misbehaving Apple device, or with Homey having unstable networking connections.

i rolled back to the version you uploaded to github for me , (where you changed back some script lines ) they has now problems , so otherwise since 2018 i used your homekit apps and i had no problems , sometimes the app crashs but that is a ram error on 2018 version , my 2023 has this not.

But like I said: if this was an actual bug in HomeKitty, many more users (HomeKitty has about 10K installs) would complain about it.

When the updates stop working, try changing the device state a few times and then create a diagnostic report and let me know the ID, I can have a look if anything is being logged. Please include the device that stopped responding in the report comments so I know where to look.

i found a solution to use the last test version (2.4.5) , since 16 hours no more errors .
:upside_down_face::+1:

what i changed :
first , i have 3 homeys , an old 2018 version , and 2 early 2023 .
so i decide to remove homekitty complete off my homekit , installed the app complete new after a 10 min offtime from homey self . without any other appletv/homepod app. same on the 2023 . then i every 45 minutes i changed for example the volume of my tv . and looked at homekit if it updates . i also installed on my appletv’s homepod the firmeware from stable to beta and back , also i changes the ip adresses of the devices and the name .( that was a lot of work too got it back work , because i have a lot of homekit devices and rulez for that devices and it runs since 7 years 80 lights , +20 sockets , and ± 40 sensors) so reset of homekit to zero. and complete clean install of all that solved for me this.

short version:

  1. remove all controll hubs from apple ,
  2. remove complete the homekitty app from homey
  3. try to update the firmewares from appletv / homepod to beta reboot aftet and restore to normal . ( i did it 3 times)
  4. add only one hub to homekit
  5. install latest test version of homekitty from athom store
  6. add homekitty bridge to homekit
  7. reboot all devices .
  8. look if polling updates to homekit ( every 60 min for example)
  9. if no errors after 3–4 hours , it runs and runs and runs

i think update on update on update on update since
you published homekitty first time may cause this . no backup configurations or else homekit config files used

and solved for me this , maybe debug protocol don t show this errors because the apple hubs are buggy

why i do this ? i also use the appletv / homepod app . and my homepod showed an error re add does not solve it ,
but last week it runs :see_no_evil_monkey::joy: so i decide to complete reset of my homekit . and voila

f..cking homekit . but when it runs …
but i never come on the idea to reset it to Zero ( it was a long night )
but why did the old version not cause this polling timeout i can t say
so last word: big big thanks to your work . can i donate some money to you? that is the min… i think

Any suggestions? This is happening everyday

Try the latest test version: HomeKitty | Homey

Hi Robert, I’ve installed the experimental version but I can no longer control Heimdall. I rolled back to the stable version but just FYI

Thanks. I did make a small change in the alarm-system-related code.

I’ve reverted them, please try the latest test: HomeKitty | Homey

That solved the issue
