[App][Pro] HomeKitty 😸 (aka HomeyKit 3.0)

2.4.4 Solved the problem with the heaters!

Still have another issue with Daikin airco’s, will create an issue tomorrow

Anyone here running the current stable version of HomeKitty with a decent amount of devices and willing to upgrade to the test version to see if things break?

Reason I’m asking: since there’s such a big discrepancy between the current stable and test versions, I want to upgrade the test version to become the stable one. But exactly because of this discrepancy, I’m looking for guinea pigs :smiling_face_with_horns:

I don’t think things will break, since there haven’t been any major structural changes to the app, only incremental updates (more/better device support), but since I only run Homey with a bunch of virtual test devices, and don’t use HomeKit anyway, I cannot substantially test this myself.

I can test it.

Thanks! The test version can be installed from here: HomeKitty | Homey

I have been using the test versions for a long time and have also installed version 2.4.4. So far, I have not encountered any problems with transferring to Homekit.

The test version is 2.4.4 (the first post of this thread isn’t up-to-date). The current stable is 2.2.7. So it sounds like you were already running the test version, and not the stable one?

Yes, I have been using the test versions for a very long time and I still use them.

That’s great, but not what I’m asking

I’m looking for people that are running the stable (2.2.7) version now and are willing to upgrade to the test version (2.4.4) so I know that 2.4.4 will not break existing 2.2.7 installations.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for this great App!
I will test  (was using 2.2.7 and just installed 2.4.4 and have 40+ devices).

Any specific things you want to get tested or feedback on?

Just jumped in the deep end
Installed perfectly, still seeing the devices, all in the correct zone. Controlling devices also works fine, reporting form locks also works.

I’m seeing no problems, will keep an eye on it!

Jumped too (Homey-SHS + Bridge)

No problems.

@robertklep - Just now I tried to break things.
Reboot iphone, stop/start Docker container for Homey-SHS.
Devices via homeykitty in Homekit did not respond. Everything worked fine in Homey.
I restarted the homeykitty-app in the Homey iOS app and everything worked instantly again. Dunno if that is expected. Wanted to share.

No specific things, just want to know if everything still works as before (so I know that an upgrade of the current test version to stable doesn’t break any installations out there).

After a reboot it may take some time before devices start responding, which is normal (the reason for this is that HomeKitty wants to make sure all Homey devices are ready before they are passed to iOS, otherwise iOS may cause devices to be put back into the Default Room).

I’ve just upgraded to the experimental function and I didn’t have any issue with my devices in HomeKit. Only thing I noticed is that my Samsung TV now has a ā€œhome iconā€.

Thanks for testing!

Since it looks like there aren’t any hurdles to take, I’ll prepare to upgrade HomeKitty today (probably).

The test version has been upgraded to stable, which was long overdue (the previous stable was released somewhere around July 2023 :grimacing:).

Hi Robert, just to add that also my testing confirms you created a stable update, Thanks for the effort!

Thanks Robert! Please let me know if you need more testing to be done. Happy to help

I connected fine but then found I needed to set a large number of devices to not be seen in HomeKit which I did by setting each device flag. However they are still showing - do I need to do something else?

Where, exactly? The flag that you can set on the device settings page is only for the built-in HomeKit experiment; to remove devices from HomeKit when using HomeKitty you need to configure them from the HomeKitty app settings page that looks like this:
