Should work. Are you using the latest test version of the app? See first post of the thread.
Yes, it works now! Thank you! During my testing, I installed the beta version, then switched to the stable version a few minutes ago, and now it works. However, I donât think this was an issue with the beta; maybe restarting the app changed the behavior.
Hi ⌠HomeKitty seems to have stop working since last night 12.3.2 release ?
ttied to restart HomeKitty app and harboot the Homey pro but all elements are non responsive in Apple Home
Does anybody have the same issue ?
Hi Robert,
For Some unknown reason, probably the Homey update it got messed up with the Apple Bridge ⌠I had restarted everything except the Apple Home bridge, just did that and everything is back to normal
Can I install the test version, and then in a couple of days/weeks revert back to the stable version, all without impacting my HomeKit set up? ie I wonât suffer from tens of ânew devicesâ?
Will Roborock cloud be added to Homekitty when vacuums is supported in homekit?
Hello everyone! So I am ready to start dipping my toe into launching Homey flows with Siri - I THINK that Homekitty is how I should be doing this - please correct me if I am wrong.
So, my thinking is that I tell Siri to turn on the flow starter and I put the flow starter at the beginning of a flow. Is that correct? If so, how would I go about having more than one flow that Siri can start? If not, how do I make a flow that Siri can start and how to I make her start it?
You should be able to rename the flow starter device to something that Siri will be able to recognise.
Ok, but can I have more than one flow starter? Will another one be added after I rename it, or can I add another one myself? I know I am probably wrong - but I am concerned that I will only be able to have Siri start one flow. It looks like, in Homey, I am supposed to put the flow starter in a flow. Then when I tell Siri to start the flow starter, it will start THAT flow in Homey. But what if I want Siri to also be able to start other flows.
I am probably misunderstanding this - I know. I am just trying to learn how to use this correctly
Perhaps just try?
oooookay, yeah thatâs what I am doing. Not working, so I thought I would ask.
Situation: I now have Flow Starter 1 and Flow Starter 2 in both Homey and HomeKit. If I add one to a flow, than HomeKit canât communicate with it. The instant I take it out of the flow, BAM, HomeKit is able to communicate with it again.
What I did was to manually add a new flow starter through Homey and renamed it. Then I renamed it in HomeKit. Homekitty has been great in everything else, so I have to assume I am doing something wrong here. I am hoping someone can give me some help as to where I am going wrong, thatâs all
I canât reproduce (with the current test version of the app).
I created two Flow Starter devices and this flow:
Both devices show up in the Home app:
And both trigger their respective flow when I press the button:
I havenât tried using Siri because I donât use it.
ok - this is good info, what I am trying to do SHOULD work, I am just going off the rails somewhere. I havenât even gotten to trying it with Siri yet, I am only pressing the button in HomeKit and trying to start my little test flow in Homey.
Let me ask you this - when you added them in Homey and renamed them, did you ALSO rename them in HomeKit? Or did the name carry over from Homey?
I didnât rename them in HomeKit. If you want the name to carry over from Homey, you need to go to the HomeKitty app settings and âunpublishâ the device, then publish it again.
Heya! Just wanted to update you - the problem turned out to be that my smart plug strip doesnât seem to like being directly connected to Homey. It lost connection and was causing all kinds of issues. That problem never crossed my mind - I assumed it was something I was doing wrong. Homekitty has been rock solid for me, so I knew that Homekitty wasnât the issue. Anyway, I also wanted to thank you for your help!
I do have a shelly which shows the door position (at least fully closed, fully open) and a shelly which triggers the door (either up/stop/down/stop). With your help I do see now the Garage Door in homekit, but how can I reflect the door closing/opening states? I mean, door is closed in homekit, I open it but it switches instantly to open. And the garagedoor_closed button reflects only open/closed. How can I delay the button states?
EDIT: or letâs change the question. I use the Device Capabilites app, which only has a button with garagedoor_closed capability. What type of device beside of a button would give me the full feature on the homekit garagedoor implementation? A homey picker with the right garagedoor_closed capability?
The only capability that comes close to this is windowcoverings_state
, but if you use that the device will be shown to be a window covering. I donât think thereâs any other way.
Would it be possible to extend the âtemplateâ how the garage door device will be created? I mean, create a virtual device which reflects the states with contact alarms and a button to trigger the door? Or is this completely against the concept of homekitty?
