Works great now Martijn! Thank you

@Drako74 Thanks for the heads up, very useful info!
Iāll adjust my post for tuning AdGuard.
@smarthomesven Hi Sven, Netflix sends tons of DNS requests regardless. I just donāt want that. They donāt need my info when Iāve no subscrptionā¦
I didnāt find any way of disabling Netflix alltogether on my TV box (KPN) yet
Because devices like TVs, tablets, mobiles, smart speakers with screens etc frequently connect to Netflix in the background for ads and content⦠no matter how hard you try to disable it on the devices themselves. So itās just easier to stop it with a DNS block list. That is after all the reason for things like Pi-Hole and AdGuard
@Drako74 for adguard i have different profiles so i can set them to the devices i want. Also doing this on my google TV to prevent all ads etc
@martijnpoppen I have similar on my Pi-Hole servers, different groups for different devices. But Netflix, along with doubleclick and google ads were blocked globally due to their insidious nature. Lesson learned ha ha
My Smart TVs and Samsung Smart Monitorās also ping Netflix frequently (I see it in the query log) but I donāt get any ads from Netflix on those so for me that isnāt an issue (that might be different on another smart TV manufacturer though, Iām not sure about the others). I also use Pi-Hole and AdGuard, but I only use those for the query logging and stats, I have all blocking disabled (except for 1 manually added domain which blocks one of my Android-based smart home devices from reaching the OTA domain that they let expire (which means anyone can take it over, which Iām not comfortable with of course)).
Does your TV show you ads for services you havenāt subscribed to? Thatās strange actually, I only see recommendations from streaming services that Iām subscribed to on my TVs.
Iām not too bothered about recommendations for shows on Netflix when Iām no longer subscribed. A nuisance yes, but not the end of the world.
The main reason I use Pi-Hole block lists is to reduce my digital footprint and tracking, and increase the security of my network. The block lists I use block domains, regex URLs, and cookies of nefarious actors and services I donāt use. It also serves to reduce bandwidth utilisation, dumping all such traffic into a black hole instead of out on to the internet. And as my Pi-Hole servers forward all allowed queries to my own recursive DNS servers rather than my ISPs DNS servers it also reduces their tracking of my activity, and gives me logging and stats on all my DNS activity too. So they provide multiple benefits, and for little cost running on a couple of 5 watt Raspberry Piās.
Interface & Insights
For anyone interested:
I created an advanced virtual device to get the latest values on a device tile, and to record these to Insights at the same time.
How it can look
Device setup

Nice @Peter_Kawa
I was doubting between a device or app only flow cards
But letās see a device is always possible
Ha yeah it crossed my mind you might already be busy adding a device to the app.
But is it possible to show both measured values as status indicator, like on the AVD?
I mean, in general users can select only one capability at a time @ device tiles provided by apps.
@Peter_Kawa no I donāt think that will work
@Peter_Kawa apologies for being a filthy thief, but a really cool idea⦠so I pinched it
Works a treat⦠NICE!
Nice! I just shared it for your convenience
Could you not provide a text status indicator with the 2 numeric values concatenated, similar to the way done with the AVD app? Homey can display text as the status indicator.
@Drako74 yes that would be possible
Ok ok, Iāll consider to change it to a device
As the number digits may vary, like 50.13 and 50.3, the layout on the tile can vary as well, the arrows donāt always line up (yeah I know, ānitpic modeā
).
With this card āFormat [number] as Decimalā, from the Better Logic Library app, you can format numbers like you prefer, with
zero digits, 1 digit, or two digits (50.30) and even with a decimal comma like we use in Holland.
One digit
Zero digits
@Peter_Kawa Iāll add a setting to the device to round that
When i do make the device ofcourse, but i think i can save you quite the flowcards
Itās just a shame that the Proās gigabit Ethernet adapter is nobbled by USB 2.0 480Mbps speeds⦠and even then doesnāt seem to be able to get close to that limit. And I know my LAN and Broadband are capable, but the speed test gets nowhere close, though I suspect part of that is probably due to other traffic for 4K cameras etc (all 2.5Gb switches with a 10Gb fibre core switch with dual active LACP fibre uplinks to all switches. And broadband is symmetrical 900Mbps up/down.)
With everything Iām trying to get my Homey to do, and despite only having owned my Homey Pro 2026 for a few short months, I am considering more and more switching to SHS seeing how it runs on a Raspberry Pi 5 with 8GB RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD⦠I imagine a lot better ha ha
@Drako74 do keep in mind that this app also runs in itās own āenvironmentā (containerized) so it might not reach the full potential as apps might get limited.
But iām curious on the SHS. Iāll run a trial
@martijnpoppen that too. But thatās not to say that the app isnāt extremely useful for part of the knowing exactly what is going on with your Homey and its environment. For that I am sure many of us are extremely grateful for your hard work in producing great apps dude
Huge respect!
I do think itās a shame that apps like this and SysInternals are needed, and such stats arenāt natively available. A good few of the apps Iām running on my Homey are for monitoring, logging and reporting on my Homey Pro, network infrastructure, UPSs, NAS, iPhone etc
Iām thinking of trying SHS, with the Homey Link app. Move all WiFi and Matter devices to SHS, and all apps and Flows that arenāt connected to Zigbee or Z-wave devices. See what the possible pitfalls and benefits are, and what performance is like.
Homey SHS on a 1Gbit Fiber
Iām using
Amber Pro which has a Dockerized Homey SHS
