[APP][Pro] Eufy Security

I’ll investigate further, but I’m afraid this is outside of my knowledge about the Eufy SDK.
Next to that the maintainer of the Eufy SDK stopped the project. So currently me and some other devs are the ones keeping the SDK alive.

thanks for the quick information. if you need anything or want to test something, just let me know.

@CyberSponk will do!

At the moment all my accounts are working somehow, so will try to create a new one and see if that one errors out :crossed_fingers:

@Richard_Neal did you share the devices with the new account and did you accept the invite?
Also I see a invalid password error in the log

Yes they are shared, I’ve installed the app elsewhere and can access and modify the devices.
I suspected it was acting like the password was incorrect as I enabled 2fa and it didn’t bring it up (disabled again)
I’ve tried changing my password to something simple to make sure I’m not mistyping but still won’t detect devices

@Richard_Neal how did you share them? As a residence or really shared per device?

New app update (:orange_square: TEST: 3.35.4):

@CyberSponk @Richard_Neal @Shaba49 Hopefully a fix for the notifications issue: :backhand_index_pointing_up:

I’ve tried two ways. I have 4 cameras connected to a homebase, when sharing it only allows me to share the homebase as a device but pulls all 5 into the second account.

When trying to add, I’m searching for the homebase just to make sure.

I’ve then added the account as a resident. Currently the cameras are shared and the account is added as a resident

@Richard_Neal and when you search for the cameras? Please send a report again, it’s quite hard to understand what you’re trying to do

and also did you remove the devices first? or are they still in your Homey?

and please let me know which cameras we’re talking about :smiley:

We can ignore the first issue for now, all I’m trying to do now is add the devices to homey.

I removed all devices and uninstalled the app, then I’ve reinstalled.
I created a whole new account in a separate install of the Eufy app on my phone.
I shared the cameras from my main account to the second account which is working perfectly in the Eufy phone app

I tried to add the cameras into homey using the Eufy security app but I get the message that a problem occurred.

In tried resetting my password with no change.

If I add my main account to homey, I get asked for 2fa and then it discovered the devices and I can add them, but doing it this way they don’t respond after the initial add.

As I know the homey app picks up 2fa, I tried adding it to my secondary account but it doesn’t ask for it when logging in, it just gives me the error message which is why I suspected it was an issue with my account

My devices are
Homebase 3
2 x S3 pro
2 x S330 doorbells

installed test-version but no notifications on/in homey.

@CyberSponk can you trigger some motions and send a diagnostic report?

and can you also send a diagnostic report after restarting the app?

@Richard_Neal

Sorry but the first issue has major impact. If I can’t get that fixed there’s not much sense for this app anymore :wink:
Also not sure why you uninstalled everything?

Sound like this works? then indeed they don’t respond but that’s what i’m already trying to fix right.

As far as I see there are no cameras in your other account, not much i can do here. The API just don’t respond with devices.

Edit: It is recommended to share the devices per device and not as a residence

I thought we weren’t allowed to use the main account as it won’t function for notifications?

I can add them using that account but then I’m back to the first issue, but as it goes against the faq’s I assumed I would be wasting your time going down that path? That’s why said to ignore that for now, I’m also thinking that was the original problem, I had logged in with the wrong account, thinking it was the secondary

I uninstalled everything before I came to you for help just in case I had messed a setting up.

@Richard_Neal

It’s not that it’s not allowed it’s a recommendation not to do it because logging in with the same account can log you out somewhere else. It has nothing to do with push notifications.

So no need to ignore the first issue, as far as I see it is a issue. As you can already see in my previous communications in this thread.

Not related as far as i see.

As mentioned in my previous post:

@CyberSponk thanks for the reports.
Can you do the following:

  • Make sure the notifications for your Homebase are enabled:

  • Change the security mode of your homebase 2 to a different mode

  • Change the security mode of your homebase 2 back to the mode you had it on

  • Share a new report
