@Ronwell please check FAQ Q1 [APP][Pro] Eufy Security - #4 by martijnpoppen - Apps - Homey Community Forum

Hi @martijnpoppen, I love your Eufy Security app! I was wondering if you could create a flow card in Homey to trigger a EufyCam to start recoding?

I have a HomeyPro 2023, a Eufy Homebase 3, EufyCam 2 and EufyCam 3 cameras, and a Eufy motionsensor. In the app that comes with Eufy (not your Eufy Security app for Homey), I can use the Eufy motionsensor to trigger one or more of the cameras to begin a recording that will be stored on the memory/storage of the Homebase 3.

My problem is the Eufy motionsensor is not suited for outdoor use. I have other outdoor motion sensors, but I donā€™t have a way to use them within Homey to trigger a Eufycam to begin recording. If Eufy can use a Eufy motion sensor to trigger one of their cameras to begin recording, would it be possible for you to create a flowcard within your Eufy Security app that could use Homey to use other motion sensors to trigger a EufyCam to begin recording. This recording would be stored on the Homebase.

Thank you again for all you do with your Eufy Security app!

Robert

I solved it with a restart of the app and a repair of the cameras,
just a thought for extra features, is it possible to add a when card for when cameras are unreachable for X time, and a then card to repair a device with last login details. this way cameras can self repair when needed and reduce down times.

@Ronwell No that wonā€™t be possible. If a self repair is needed the app tries that already. You will also get a timeline notification is something is wrong.

I can make cards for captcha and 2fa requirements, but that is also part of the timeline notification.

Do you use this account only on Homey, or also on another device?

Hey @Unit_Homey_User

Unfortunately thatā€™s not possible, it would be a feature i would love to add and in my opinion itā€™s really missing at the moment.

Thereā€™s a alternative way to trigger a recording, Iā€™m still trying that out, but will try to add it to the FAQ. Itā€™s not pretty but it does work, only it records for 10 seconds max

@martijnpoppen, Thanks for your quick reply. That looks like an interesting workaround. I will give it a try and let you know if it works for me. Thanks!

Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™m asking this in the right spot, but Iā€™m using this app on the Homey Pro(about a year now) and this particular app doesnā€™t work with the apple homekit experience. The homebase shows up in HomeKit, but when changing the security settings, it does nothing to the homebase. Yet, when I change the settings to the homebase in the Homey app, it works fine. Can you please help?

Thank you

@Dwayne_Belle i canā€™t help you with that Iā€™m only maintaining this app I canā€™t influence HomeKit

@martijnpoppen, I gave it a try and it worked. The flow card to turn the generic alarm on for the Homebase 3 had a minimum of 30 seconds. So I set a delay and then had a flowcard turn off the alarm so I didnā€™t have to listen to it in the house. The Eufycam 3 recorded for 40 seconds once triggered in the Eufy app. Iā€™ve included the flow I used. Thanks again!
