[APP][Pro] Eufy Security

Hi Martijn,

I need to bother you gain. Have a strange behavior since a few days related to Eufy and/or WhatApp App. The Eufy App make a snapshot upon event. But sometimes I see in the Eufy App still the previous snapshot. Only when I hit the refresh button comes the recent just made image. This leads the WhatsApp app sending the previous snapshot and not the latest one. This is not happen every time but often.

Could that be related to your recent changes in the Eufy App version? Any other idea? I did not change anything in my configuration or flows.

@Capetrip I see this sometimes happening that it doesn’t update correctly
Might be a timing issue will check

New app update (:orange_square: TEST: 3.30.3):

FIXES:
1: FIX: small timeout for image update (prevent old images)
2: FIX: CPU warning fix. (make sure to disable snapshots on all devices for this!)

Additional info for point 2: HP23 uses a lot of cpu and memory for snapshots. This is due to a workaround i had to make to support it on the nodejs version which is running on HP23. Athom is aware and i’m waiting for a fix. To prevent the CPU warning make sure to disable snapshot in all your camera’s then the work around will be disabled on the next reboot

Thanks! Installed it and so far it looks ok, however need to monitor for 2-3 days as the issue was not happen every time. Will let you know ASAP.

Hi Martijn,

Today 2 times I did not get any snapshot from Eufy. Just a black screen in the snapshot area in the Eufy Homey App. Event snapshot works ok.

Made a report : ā€œ8148CE42ā€

@Capetrip that’s a full homey report for Athom employees. Please send a eufy security report.

Next to that. The snapshot feature is nice to have for this app which i host my self. It’s not a guaranteed service and therefore timeouts or errors might occur, i can’t influence that. If you want a robuster solution then please look at self hosting it with docker (see faq).

Also for HP23 there’s still a memory issues in combination with snapshots and i have to wait for a nodejs update from Athom for that

Remember I use the experimental version above.

And I got your message that there is no guarantee that snapshots always work.

Hi Martijn, just to let you know what the above experimental test version of the Eufy App still captures the previous image and not the latest one as explained above. Let me know if you need a App report.

@Capetrip and if you press refresh on the refresh icon of the image view (in the device) ?

Even if press the refresh button it says updated a few seconds ago but It still shows the previous image.

@Capetrip then the snapshot was not made :wink:

I have very often that the app disconnect/logout from my hb3 so it cannot set modes by flows anymore. The only thing I have to do is repair with login and it works again.
I’m using special user for homey app but doesn’t help.

Can you send a new report when the error occurs again? Now there’s nothing in the log related to that

Hi! I have just bought a set of the new eufyCam S3 Pro cameras but it seems like they are not supported in the app. Any chance that they might be added?

Hello Martijn.

I have my E340 battery powered doorbell on v3.30.3. So far I never saw the ā€œtoggle lightā€ card available. Also the ā€œsomeone is loitering cardā€ still often dissapears.

I know you put your time and efforts in this voluntarily. So totally fine with it if you don’t want to look into it. But just letting you know.

Hi Martijn,

Today homey stopped working again with eufy, at 24:00 it could turn hb3 in alarm mode and in the morning he should turn it of but didn’t work anymore. It will work again when i do repair and login again.
I have made an report as requested now when it is not working: 477254b0-198b-4d0a-bbdf-c10be3a2ae64

Hope you can see something. (will wait with doing repair till you checked)
