[APP][Pro] Eufy Security

I need help I can’t make it. I have created a new account to log in with homey. when I log in it works too. but if I want to add my doorbell I have to log in again and that doesn’t work. so I can’t go any further. what am I doing wrong?

Hey @Marco3

Currently there is a issue with the latest Eufy app version and Homey.

If you installed the Eufy app you’ll see that on your time Line.

When you follow the URL in that message you’ll land on this topic and it Will show you the latest status about the issue.

Theres a fix available at the moment but it is in testing phase.

Install the app by going to this link:

Then you can add the devices. No need to login in the app settings

Hi everyone
seen it in the FAQ and multiple posts in this thread regarding and tried several things already but no luck :frowning:
Running the test version for IOS - Router Amplify HD Mesh - Homebase 2 - Wireless doorbell and just recently Eufy 2C.
Will not list them all but the most relevant actions taken : install and find devices in Homey with no issue (thanks Martijn !) - obviously which each try of new “setup” restart app and mostly remove and reinstall devices in Homey AND Eufy - tried wired Homebase connection and Wifi connection - static lease for Homebase and no static IP.
Few funny things though … cannot find Eufy cam as device on my Amplify (to determine IP) - also cannot find it in Eufy app btw.
Issue is that even with the static lease Homebase it remains “one way traffic”, Homey receives movement etc (tested few flow) but Homey is not interacting back with Eufy, which is essential for me given I e.g. want to implement Homey presence and sleep/awake etc to status Eufy so I can create a “manual” Eufy setup.
Will keep a hold off the Eufy cam until the return policy expires  but still hoping I can figure this one out with the help of fellow soulmates
thanks

Hey @Steven_Petein

Did you check the ip of the homebase (in device settings?)
Seems like there’s some kind of ruling in your network which prevents the homebase from local access.

There was somebody who had this before, but it started working automagically.

Not sure if you’re using any VLAN / Guest network setup etc. But might be good to check those.

Eufy on Homey can communicate locally in the same network. Or publicly as long as it is on another WAN address

Sorry for asking again but I am working on a solution for my case and thought it would be nice if I could trigger the motion alarm of the Eufy cam as a result of a flow but I can’t seem to find where or how to do this. Is this possible?

Hey @theodorhesse
You can only set the alarm for the Homebase or for a stand alone camera like the indoor pan&titl.

For other camera’s this is not possible via Homey.

Which camera are you referring to?

New app update (test: 2.29.0):

Changelog:
1. NEW: integrate Eufy Homemanagement (Eufy firmware v4.0.0)
2. NEW: Support Region selection in login
3. FIX: wrong eufy-homey-client version
4. NEW: add option to reset the notification service when it is ‘stuck’

Sometimes the notification service is stuck and it is not possible to enable it.
Added a button to the app settings to reset it. (see image)

Thank you for your message, I’ll get to work on it right away.

I have the indoor pan&tilt but can only trigger the generic alarm in the then-part of the flow but I would like to activate the motion alarm so that the camera triggers through Homekit. A bit complicated, I know, but I have no idea how else I can get a Homekit notification with the camera image.

@theodorhesse You cannot force trigger the motion alarm. This will only trigger when there is motion.

The implementation in Homey will only use the same options from Eufy. In the Eufy app you also can’t trigger motion unless there is motion.

Good to know, thank you very much!

Hey martijn,

The alarm is enabled when it go’s to away.
When I enable the Heimdall modus eufy app switch to away then there schould only be al alarm trigger from Heimdall if te camera detect’s movement. I’m not Shure if Heimdall dos this whit every movement ore just whit person only. In eufy it only works when there is a person detected.

The strange thing is that when I activate Heimdall direct wit in the second alarm go off.

Like ath the moment of activation Heimdall gets a reaction from the cam that triggers the alarm.

I don’t know if in this case something is wrong from your eufy app. Ore it is somthing in Heimdall.

@Yannick_Eeckelaert
What you describe is default Eufy behaviour.
Try switching modes in the mobile Eufy and the same thing will happen

It’s because you enabled the alarm on the mode.
It Will always sound when you activate that mode

So disable camera alarm

Ok,

Strange, end eufy knows that? I will try to disable the camera alam en see what happens.
But than the camera alam will not trigger if there is motion detection I presume? In my house if a camera detect a person the home base sounds en a few extra sirens end the camera alam. But that last one will not sound if I disable the function?

Dit jou ThinQ à bout a trigger flow to start the camera alarm? “Trigger cam alarm”?

I have an other question regarding the alam from the camera itself, in my house it happens that the alam from a camera go’s of even when the device is set to home. There is a theft alam on in every camera, the only thing I was thinking that it was the theft alarm that triggers by its own. Talked to eufy about it but the had no answer…. It dos not happen a lot. It’s difficult to test.

Thx!

Probably yes
As it is their feature :stuck_out_tongue:

It exists for non Homebase cameras so also your floodlight.

Not sure if I can handle that from Homey.

The alarms which are user in Eufy flows are different from what I use in Homey.

Ath the moment I put just logging on in Heimdall. En now I see when I activate the alarm just at that same moment the camera detects movement in de Heimdall log. How dos Heimdall get information about movement? Seems like it get a trigger from the camera in the exact moment it change the status from home to away. I would like to add that the camera it self dos not go in to alarm. It is Heimdall ho receives information about motion detection just ath the moment of activating orde deactivation. En then it triggers my Popp Sirne because of a flow.

It would be great to know what Heimdall gets for info ath that exact moment when it change status in the eufy app. Maybe when can give the info to the developer of the Heimdall app. Maybe he needs to change something.

Grtz Yannick

The only thing Inadded for Eufy is the alarm_motion capability.
But I dont think that’s active when you change modes.

Not sure about Heimdall and o think you can better ask in the Heimdall topic.

I Will have a look at the alarm. Maybe something changed why motion is triggered. Will come back on that
