Fair enough.
Will the experimental app still be updated or do we need to migrate to the official app? If so, I guess all devices have to be re-added and flows repaired?

You’re better of installing the published app indeed. Unless you want to stay in the loop with test versions (which is fine by me).
I’m not sure if you have to re-add the devices, but most likely: yes.
Hello,
Good app, thank you.
Is it possible to add more functionality to the app, e.g. like setting the “vacation mode”?
Thank you.
Hi!
What exactly is the vacation mode? Feels like a mode that exists as flow / state in Homey that controls other hardware, like your heating system, while in that mode?
I’ve just checked the code and the API and it turns out a few things are already in place. I’ll figure out how to expose the device capabilities and add flow charts to switch modes too.
There’s an update in the test app (Danfoss Ally | Homey) that adds flow card to set the thermostat to various kind of modes and another flow card that sets all thermostats under the account to a mode of choice.
I couldn’t find anything in the API that indicates that the Holiday feature in the app is driven by their API. It most likely iterates and automates the mode on all thermostates based on the input you give it. Which in fact is what you can do using the new flow charts in Homey, right?
Thank you very much. This new test version with the added flow card(s) seems to be working.
Thanks for verifying. I’ve submitted the version to be published!
im trying to connect my ally system but seems like the developer link in the app doesnt work so i dont get the app info over in danfoss developer
Hi Joshua you made a geat job in a really short time. Thanks! In particular because the homey supported Danfoss app doesn’t work properly. they didn’t change anything althougt they know the problems.
Never the less I discovered one big missing function in your app: If more than one thermostate is added to a room it’s building a group. if one or more thermostates in the same room added together with a room sensor they are also in one groop together. The adjustment of the temperature and other properties is only possible via the regarding group. Thus if you want to change the temperature depending e.g. on a window sensor it don’t work with the existing flow cards because they are always related to the single thermostate.
Thanks again
Jörg
The installation instruction are still working on my end. Did you follow all steps from the video? There’s nothing you need to do with a link in Homey, it’s the application key and secret that you need to copy and paste in the settings?
I’m having a bit of trouble following you - your room setup should be done in Danfoss. We just control them via the API and this application is not meant as a full replacement.
I can’t really seem to figure out what you mean by “more than on thermostate is building a group”. Why would there be a 2nd thermostat in a room in the first place? You’re not using 2 remotes to control your tv either.
I’ve got multiple room sensors and thermostats across my home and added them to Homey. I’m using room temperature and humidity sensors to adjust the thermostats.
If you can give me any other info I’d be happy to help,..
and thats what i just cannot find ??
i have created a user in developer app with same email but when i go in there i dont see any danfoss ally app when i get to the step ADD APP
like in your video so gets kind of stuck right there
have no idea how to find those settings
It’s normal that you don’t see any app yet after just creating your account. In my video there is a previously generated app already. You just click [Add app] there and proceed as follows:
suddenly i figured it out and now got all sensors paired ![]()
Dear Joshua
What I mean with “more than one thermostate is building a group” is following: e.g. in my livinging room I have 3 heater each with one Danfoss Ally thermostat installed. Additionally in the room is installed a Danfoss Ally Room Sensor. If I put them in the Danfoss app into the same room they are building a group automaticely. Now, if you want to change any adustments you are only able to change that into the goup card. The single thermostat cards are shown, but it is not possible to change any properties. The room sensor is the leading device for all thermostats in the room. The temperature shown in the single cards is that of the room sensor.
In the same room I’ve also 2 window sensors of another brand installed. Due to the “Open Window” recognition is not able(can’t be able - because no heater is near the big window installed and the firmware utilize the temperatur gradient ) to work properly I want to close the heater valves in case the window is open in dependance of the window sensors. Therefore I thougt is the Homey a good solution because it includes a lot of brands and different devices.
Thanks for your help
Jörg
Ah I see, that’s the same in my setup too. Appears to be the default behaviour of the Ally app itself. Since we can only control the setup in the official Ally app we can’t control them individual either.
Only thing worth a try is to create seperate rooms for your sensors and thermostats, I can imagine that unties them from a group and allows you to read sensors and control thermostats individual via the Homey app?
I got 6 Icon2 IR Thermostats, but I had to choose “basic thermostat” for the app to add them. Also, would be great if both floor and air temperature could be shown for each device.
