[APP][Pro&Cloud] Shelly

It’s not outputting something in the log? It just stays on this line…
I have a Shelly 2.5 that’s updating just fine (also without logging output)

2020-05-17 20:17:06 [log] [ShellyApp] Initializing Shelly App …

Did you delete any of the other channels from Homey that where added upon pairing (specifically channel 1)? The device for channel-1 is needed as this is the channel that is actually being polled and which updates the states of all 4 channels.

Yes I did, didn’t think it had any use… So I guess if I don’t want to have an extra “useless” channel, I have to rewire the module and add it again for channel 1?

Correct.

Since 2 days, my shelly plugs are showing the red exclamation mark. I tried to delete and add them, but I get the message EHOSTUNREACH (correct IP address). Did anything change on either side? I also rebooted the shelly plugs.

Last update from the Shelly app is from 6 days ago. So I’m guessing it’s a network issue on your side.

Working as advertised! Thanks

Hello,

Since an update a ± 2 weeks ago of the shelly app of homey the call back urls on my shelly 1 don’t work anymore. Haven’t had much time to investigate until now. But I am not able to fix it.

  • I removed, re added callback urls via homey.(also did areboot after this)
  • Removed the shelly from homey and added it again.
  • Moved it to have better wifi connection. From the ceiling to behind the switch.
  • Did a factory reset.

I can control it directly with the switch, I can control it via the web browser, I can control it via Homey. Callback urls are set by homey on the shelly. But when I flip the switch the callback url doesn’t get triggered. Both the btn_on and btn_off.
It worked until an update a few weeks ago.
Can someone help me with this?

See the release notes. There was a breaking change with the callback URL trigger card. You probably need to update your flows and use the correct triggercard.

Thanks for the suggestion, and that would have worked if I wouldn’t have disabled the flow a few weeks ago when it stopped working, which I forgot. So yeah, I am not feeling very smart right now, but at least everything works now I enabled it. And I already was planning on moving it, so that is now also done.
Thank you for the tip which made me start looking at the flow.

hi @Phuturist, thanks for the app.
trying to integrate a DW sensor. Followed the “Set callback URL for triggers”
Urls are set (can see them in shelly app), but the homey is not reacting reliable.
Where the shelly app always shows the correct status, homey is sometimes reacting and sometimes i need to reset, reconnect everything in homey.

is there any advice you can give me?
thanks

Could you explain what not reacting reliable means. Does that mean that Homey does not receive a open or close event from the Shelly DW? If so, why are you resetting and reconnecting the device?

Homey missing an event could have several causes:

  • the Shelly DW does not send the update
  • it’s not being received in Homey because of Homey’s crappy network stack
  • the IP of the device has changed because not static IP has been assigned in the router
  • You have misconfigured the dark and twilight threshold settings, in some cases no events are fired (see table below)
  • there is something wrong in my coding.

Make your pick. For some causes running the app from the command line could help out to see what is going on.

what type description
dark_threshold number Illumination definition for “dark” in lux, 0…100000 and must be lower than twilight_threshold
twilight_threshold number Illumination definition for “dusk” in lux, 0…100000 and must be greater than dark_threshold
dark_url string Set URL to report to when luminance <= dark_threshold
twilight_url string Set URL ro report to when luminance > dark_threshold AND luminance <= twilight_threshold

Static ip is set. The Shelly app always detects the change in open/close but homey. That’s why I know it not an up or threshold problem.

Are there people who have successfully installed the Shelly 1? Because i can’t get it to work. After some tries it found the Shelly 1 but when i click next i get time outs or the Homey crashes or the Homey is unreachable or it goes back to the add screen.

Havent heard of this before. My own Shelly 1 pairs fine. Seeying the random issues this is causing it sounds to me like bitrot in your Homey.

I bought a Shelly RGBW2 and connected it to a RGBW led strip. Works fine on the Shelly (webpage) itself, but in Homey I cannot separatly control RGB and W. It seems to make some blend of RGB and W and works differently from the Shelly controlpage.

For example: when I create a flow to set the Shelly to full red, it stays pink. Also selecting colors in the colorwheel or the “temperaturewheel” (?) gives colors that are not what I selected (but in the same range)
Again: in the Shelly controlpage everything works perfectly (RGB and W seperatly controlled), so it’s connected properly
From the changelog
“Added a toggle button for the RGBW2 Color to switch between white and color mode”

Don’t see this control. I added the Shelly as a RGB device (not the 4xW and not the 2xCW/WW version)

Do I need to do it differently

Hmmm, I will have to test this which will take some time.

The toggle button should be accessible under the device settings.

Yes I have same problem. Controlling light intensity is changing only intensity of rgb but not white.

Tried a bit more

https://homey.app/f/B3k9I9

I’m trying to make a Flow that sets the RGBW (warm White) ledstrip to red during nighttime and white during daytime.
Nighttime red works, but daytime White is always 100% White plus 100% red (which makes a reddish White)

Found the White mode button, but it also does not properly work, since when the strip is on red and I switch to white mode red stays on 100%

I think the/one problem might be that the app works different from the Shelly. The Shelly has two dimming sliders: one for White channel, one for RGB channel

In devices Homey app only has one slider, and a toggle for White mode. I cant figure out what order to use the dimmer and toggle to switch between 100% red and 100% only warm White.

It goes wrong in the homey device when i switch from red to White using the toggle (select toggle whitemode and use on/off button), and then use the slider to set White to 100% ie something like that, which also sets red to 100%

The dimmerslide then dims only red, and I cant find any way to dim White. Seems the dimmer does not respond to White mode?

So seems logic that a flow to switch between wont work also?

Is it possible two have two sliders in the homey device? Or is that difficult?

I dont have any RGBW LED strip to test with. Can you donate me a small strip to test with so I can look into this?
