Hi, I would like to fill my small apartment with shells for power sockets and light switches. I wonder what works better and faster, the WiFi version, LAN or Z-Wave? I know that the author of the application works reliably and responds to all requests, so I don’t worry about it. But what is the better hardware choice?
I have a Shelly 2.5 installed with a double momentary switch. On SW1/O1 the ceiling light is connected, and this works fine. I’ve set the Shelly settings to momentary switch. There’s no O2 connected, my thought was using the second switch to control other smart-devices or trigger flows. As a proof of concept I tried setting up sw2 to turn on / off a hue lamp, on my night stand. But it doesn’t work properly. I’ve tried with momentary switch, toggle switch with detached mode settings, and the flow is set to trigger by input changed. The flow works nicely when triggered in the app, but not when using the switch.
E.g. if the light is off, I need to hold the button for the light to turn on, but it will turn off when I release the switch, and the other way around if original state of light is on…
And hints to what I am doing wrong…?
Hi!
Today I experienced something strange and it shouldnt have something to do with the the configuration or network.
I protected my Shelly Pro 4PM by a password. I entered the password within the homey app and Homey connected to the device.
After this Homey acted only in reading mode. It didn´t matter how often or which switch within Homey app I pressed, PM4 didn´t react to it but Homey showed it as it would react e.g. Power on → confirmed by switching the switch to blue. No errors reported.
The readings are correct. When I turn the channels by the Shelly app or Walldisplay on or off the status within Homey is updated correctly. Also the power readings are correct. PM4 just doesn´t react to any switch condition change within the Homey app manually or by a flow.
After removing the password protection from PM4 everything works well and the PM4 reacts to flows and manual switching through the Homey app.

Please submit an issue on Github so I can look into it at a later time.
I did. Thanks
I have checked the known issues list.
It says:
‘Multichannel Zwave devices dont show correct values and toggle switches main node as well.
There is a known bug in Homey with setting multichannel Zwave association upon pairing the device. You will need to go into the Zwave parameters under the main node and first change the association of group 1 from 1.1 to 1 and save it. Then change it back to 1.1 and save it again and the issue is resolved.’
Can someone tell me where this (‘ go into the Zwave parameters’) should be done? Haven’t found it in the Homey app nor in the Shelley app.
Regards,
Philip
In the last update, 3.24.1, the changes made to RGBW2 has caused the temperature scale to be inverted in affecting the colour saturation.
I.e. my flows adjust dimlevel (25%), colour (by colourwheel) and colour temperature (80%).
This now makes the strip bright white instead of coloured. Changing colour temp to 20% gives the same result as before.
I’ll fix that with the next release.
Is it possible to get an event for long press and short press for Shelly Plus 1PM in detached mode using Homey? I want it to be able to dim my IKEA bulbs and turn them on/off. Or do I need HomeAssistant for that?
Yes that’s possible.
After a power outage my shelly wave 2pm lost conection and had to reconnect them.
This was a nightmare but after upgrading to the expirimental version it worked.
I can control them (whit them somtimes not responding) but i cant see the power output the are giving.
I tried messing with the settings but after nothing worked i defaulted them again.
anyone has the same problem?
If the device sometimes does not respond it could very well mean you have range issues. Have you tried with the device closer to Homey or adding more Zwave devices to get a better mesh?
If you send a diagnostic report from the app settings I can perhaps see more.
the device itself is 1 meter from the homey pro so its not that i think.
ill send it right away.
Anny idee whit the power issue?
Did you follow the instruction under the known issues for multichannel Zwave devices. Due to a bug in Homey an extra manual action is required.
Other than that I have no idea. There are no errors in the log and there are no other known issues with this functionality and in my own tests this works fine.
I assume you did also reboot Homey, just to make sure …
ill check it out and i will let u know.
Rebooting the homey sort of.
It crashed 2 days ago so more ore less xp
i did follow the insructions but i see no change. Ill waith a day to mabby se affect. ill get back to you.
thanks in advance!
Theme Shelly BLU Button 1:
Hello,
I wanted to use the button to report attendance.
I have activated three Shelly devices as BeaconGateway.
So I have the current status around the house.
… I thought.
It often happens that a button logs out without leaving the location.
If I use the Android app (ShellyBLE) or another beacon scanner, the button is in the house.
When I restart the homey Shelly app, the button is home for a short time - but not for long.
Only when you press the button does the button remain present.
I’m afraid that the Shelly Cloud and ShellyApp won’t sync properly.
What could that be??
This is unrelated to Shelly Cloud. There seems to be an issue with the Plus/Pro devices configured as Bluetooth Proxy. It’s not receiving or forwarding the beacon BLE advertisements to Homey. I have already reported this to Allterco Robotics but further investigation is needed. I’ll add this to the known issues.
Thanks for the info ![]()
In addition, the button only sends a sign of life every 8 seconds.
That is too long for good presence detection.
Other beacons broadcast their status every second.
I created a ticket with Shelly for this.
