You can create an Advanced Virtual Device (AVD) via the Device Capabilities app and add the running timer counter to it:

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that bit . As far as I know, the remaining time of the timer is not directly available as a tag. Instead, I am using an Enhanced Virtual Device that includes the remaining time as a capability. [EVD Timer Capability] In an Enhanced Virtual Device you can select timers/stopwatches from the Chronograph app as a source for capabilities.
