[APP][Pro] Blink for Home - Smart security designed for every home

New test version 1.1.9:

  • Fixed missing SyncModule ID in ‘motion detected’ trigger card.

@mtazix
It seems Blink has changed the API result so the SyncModule ID is missing now.
It’s fixed now in the app so you should get the correct videoId tag in the motion detected flow card.
Can you please try the new test version? Thanks.

Hi @RonnyW ,

It is working now with this test version. I can send the video via FTP.

Thank you so much:)

New test version 1.1.10:

  • Just some small code cleanups for the last fix.

Hi, with this app can I have the Live View of a Blink Cam directly in Homey app?

Simone

You get a live snapshot when you open the device in Homey. You can refresh the snapshot and you can send the snapshot via push message.
But only snapshots - and only if the camera is able to record the image. If the camera is busy (recording due to motion alert), you can’t access it twice to take a snapshot.

If you want to record a snapshot on motion alert, that won’t work.
Only possibility for snapthots on motion alert is using cloud storage (subscription) . If the recorded video is stored in the cloud, the app can read the preview image (that’s shown in Blink app in video list).

So you see, possibilities are there but also limitations.

Hey,
thanks for this App. I’m using v1.1.11 on a Homey Pro 2023 and I’m looking for a possibility to activate the system automatically if no one is at home. The presence itself can be checked easily but as of now there is no chance to activate the Blink system via flow.
Any chance to build this into the next version? Would be great!

Thanks
BB

You can switch them on/off by camera.

Or activate/deactivate the whole system by turning the SyncModule device on/off.

Thanks for your support - appreciated

Hi Ronny
Great App, I have a lot of Blink stuff and this is great for adding to flows.

Quick question and not sure if this is down to the App or Homey Pro but in the batteries section, it reports the cameras have 1 x AA battery which should read 2 x AA, only a minor cosmetic issue but could see it reported anywhere else.

Thanks for the hint. This will be fixed in the next version.

Good grief Ronny, that must be the fastest fix turn around I’ve seen!!! great work, my Homey all updated and shows 2 x AA, keep up the good work.

One other quick question, on the flood light accessory, in the Blink App you can turn the light on/off manually, any chance this could be available in a flow card some time in future (doesn’t need to be done in next 5 minutes !!!)

Thanks
Darrell

I don’t have these devices. So it’s hard to implement.
The Blink API ist not official, so it needs to exttract the URLs from the http stream. This means I need access to a Blink account via Phone and Homey.

And where in the Blink app can you turn on/off the light? Is it camera based or a new device in Blink app?

Couldn’t find it via the search option. When snapshots are taken and I want to delete the old one (I now see several on the Homey images folder), how can I do this.

The images are stored on Homey internal storage and should be deleted after a short time. That’s a default behaviour.

Hello,
Thank you for this app and your hard work
I just bought a blink doorbell which I intended to use as a … doorbell :innocent: ie with my zwave chime.
I’ve undertood that you can’t detect the button pressed but the video recorded.
Though I’m currently using the 30day free cloud storage and I experience more than 30s between the button pressed and the trigger in Homey. I thought that with cloud storage the delay was minimal ?!
What am I missing ?

Please check which interval is set for cloud storage.

You can try 15 or 10 sec interval.
Perhaps the default is set to a longer interval.

I’ve checked the parameters and they are set according to your recommendations

In Blink mobile app you can set camera settngs for motion. There you can activate “early notification”. I think that’s only for push notifications, but you can try to activate it.

Unfortunately there is NO “early detection” for the doorbell :frowning:

…and the recording of a motion event doesn’t trigger Homey’s flow
