Since it is a fairly simple sensor, for now I made a flow with Logic that reads the /state URL and parses the temperature, and then sets that to a Virtual Device
To check if mDNS-SD works properly you can download e.g. an app for Android called mDNS Discovery - check for bbxsrv → below is the screenshot where you can see some blebox devices in local network. Please check if you can see your tempSensor.
Here is the reply I got: {“device”:{“deviceName”:“Temp Sensor”,“type”:“tempSensor”,“product”:“tempSensor”,“hv”:“1.5”,“fv”:“0.1025”,“universe”:0,“apiLevel”:“20220501”,“iconSet”:1,“categories”:[4,7],“id”:“4a551979bd64”,“ip”:“192.168.128.88”,“availableFv”:null}}
Everything looks fine… It’s weird that Homey can not find the tempSensor… One more thing I can think of - please reboot Homey and try adding tempSensor again…
Everything looks fine. To be honest, I can’t tell why Homey can’t find the device. Unfortunately I have no impact on that - mDNS search is an internal Homey feature, I just tell it to search bbxsrv and nothing more - it usually works fine… The last thing I can think of is:
please try adding the device again.
after it fails please go in the Homey App to Applications->BleBox->Setitings and there push a button to create a diagnostic report. Please send me the ID of the report You’ll get - I’ll check it, maybe there will be an error shown.
Hello,
I can see that Homey can’t connect to your BleBox device - it discovers it via MDNS-SD, but when it tries to connect then an error is thrown. Here is the error (EHOSTUNREACH is network-level error: host is not reachable - usually from the router):
Please don’t mismatch BleBox ID and MAC address - those are different things and on the screen provided by you from wBox app I don’t see MAC address at all.
If you have an IT manager, then maybe he could trace the traffic between Homey Pro and your BleBox device and troubleshoot it? If you use Homey Pro 2023 then you (or he) should be able to SSH to homey and check ping/tracert to BleBox device. I think it should also show that it is not reachable.
Weird. I’ve checked how it is with my BleBox devices, but I’ve got the same address in wBox app and In my router. So maybe it is a problem - I don’t know… I’d suggest to try this ssh connection.
Hi Piotr,
Today I received a Switchbox Light.
The Blebox App on my iPhone found it directly and I can control it with no issues.
When I try to add this device to Homey I get the “no new devices” message.
I have already tried:
restart the homey Blebox app
reboot homey
reboot the router and all AP’s
Maybe I have an old or new version of the device…
Info from the device in the Blebox app:
Device type: switchBoxLight
Hardwareversion: s_swBL_1.0
Softwareversion: 0.1021
API type: switchBox
API level: 20200831
Any idea why I can’t add it?
All my other Blebox devices work just fine.
