[App][Pro] Blauberg Vento Fans

I do not, I do this for fun.

Hi!

I am about to get some units installed, and saw that there are a V3 of the units now, as well as a new series called ā€œinhomeā€. (More athletically pleasing to look at). Do you think they would work with this app also?

New devices from Blauberg

I know it“s a long shot, and sorry for the very non tech-savy question.

If you can find the modbus documents for them I can review, match and update.

Till now they don’t do lots of modbus changes so many related devices just work…

I tried to dig a little.

The market for these things are crazy. Total mafia market, filled with marketing crap, and a bunch of whitelabel brands, hiding old and new models under confusing naming schemes on purpose. Finding modbus documentation, is harder then finding a needle in a haystack so it seems. I“ve spent the past hour looking for it

I guess, i just need to try my luck with the ā€œnewā€ model. Seems more like a beauty upgrade, rather then a complete overhaul. So, from my understanding, the ā€œnewā€ ones, should work too, because it in theory, is the exact same hardware. There could be firmware changes though. But i guess i have to F around and Find out hehe.

Sad part is, that i have to buy one to try hehe.

Thanks for getting back to me though! :+1:

In attach is the ModBus configuration, what I check is similar to Vento V2 or V3, only more data parameters (CO2, humidity….)

I’ll give them a look :+1:

Sick!

I have plenty of time though, so no rush haha.
IĀ“m in the middle of a huge renovation project, so wifey says house before Homey. I think that is a very unfair line to draw from her….

First of all - thank you very much for creating this app!

I hooked up my A50v2 and the native Blauberg iOS app works fine, but Homey returns a ā€˜no device found’.

I’m still on the old Homey (ball shaped). Could that be the problem?

Thanks!

Hi Kaoh,

I’m about to install two units of the Blauberg VENTO inHome W BLK (S11) and would love to integrate them with Homey. While researching compatibility, I came across this thread and saw that the inHome series is not yet officially supported.

I managed to find the official Smart Home Connection Guide for the VENTO inHome W (document number B133-4-1EN-02), which is listed on the official Blauberg product page for this device. This document includes the full parameter table, packet structure, checksum calculation and even a C code example for packet processing. As far as I can tell from reading through this thread, this specific document has not been shared here before – so hopefully it’s useful to you.

From what I understand, the remaining missing piece is the Unit type value (parameter 0x00B9) for the inHome W, which can only be read from a real device. I already have both units and am ready to test. If you can tell me exactly how to read that parameter – ideally in a simple step-by-step way, as I’m not a developer – I’ll get you the value straight away. I’m also happy to test any early or experimental version of the app if that would help.

Thanks a lot for your work on this app. It’s very much appreciated!

@Andre_Baum thanks, this app is next in my cycle, so together with the info @DopiTobi shared Ill give it a go soon.

@Sjoerd-B no that should not be the problem. We use local discovery request to locate them. This means they UDP broadcasts, not all networks like these or network segments pass them along. Do you have a comlex LAN setup?

Perfect - thanks…. I order them - they should be installed in 3 weeks… I will replace old Vento V1 version - running now more then 10 years…

unfortunatly your links are 404 now :frowning:

@Andre_Baum and @DopiTobi change incoming that should support those inHome devices.

Here are the links:

The Breezy should work with the new generic HRV driver I put in this test version:

The iFan should work with the wifi fan driver now
The Arc is not the same familiy of modbus and will create a different brand in the blauberg fan app. So I wont add that one.
If you find me a good webstore that ships to the Netherlands I might order one though and create a own app for it, its a nice device and I need something like that in my house also

So please try out the new test version and let me know if it works.

Dear Kaoh,

thank you so much for your effort.

With none of the three option while adding a device, my fan (inHome W or Vento V2 in the Blauberg App) can be found.

Can I ask you for things I should check in order to be sure I have setup everything as you intended?

Here is what I made sure:

Both the fan and the Honey Pro are connected to my 2.4 GHZ version of my WLAN.

I can control the fan via the Blauberg app in which it is listed as Vento V2.

I made sure the device password is 11111111. Since the fan is not found with the honey app I was never asked to enter it though.

Have a nice weekend!

If even the Vento V2 is not being discovered there must be another issue in your setup. The discover broadcasts are a bit demanding on local LAN setups. The Homey must not be in a sifferent net segment, and sometimes WIFI routeres block these if you have the Homey on UTP and the fans on wifi for example.
So even though they are on the same Wifi, do you use a complex system like Unifi or mesh WIFI, or WIFI extenders?

Else you can try to add them again and after failing send me the diagnostic report.
