[APP][Cloud & Pro] SwitchBot (Release 2.0.57, Test 2.0.59)

Hi Adrian,

I’ve another request for enhancement:

I’m using the Smart Radiator Thermostat. This device has a trigger for change of mode, but it is not available as trigger flow card (when). In the API documentation I found it here:

Use case:

If the mode of the device is changing by the SwitchBot app or others, I would like to know to switch the mode of heating planer to manual or automatic.

Greetings,
David

I cannot add the switchbot rgbicww steip light via matter to my HP23. I get to the part where i have to chose the SSID and the password prompt but then homeys waiting for a device which is in pairing mode but then nothing happens (even after 15 minutes) until i cancel.

Ive tried it nuermous times. I’d appreciate any help.

Regards,

Is your device (light) in pairing mode?

But if you use matter it is independent from this switchbot app I think, because you add then a matter device and not a switchbot device.

Yes its in pairing mode because i reset it every time i try to add it.

Yes, i try to add it via matter, which is not dependent on the switchbot app.

Have you setup the device in the SwitchBot mobile app?

I think that’s still required for Matter.

Yes, i did. Even though i dont understand why it needs to be added to the switchbot native app if i try to connect it directly to hp23 because both speak matter.

I’m not 100% sure it does, but when you add it to your account it initialises it, so just looking for solutions.

I think you have to to work via BLE.

About BLE ….. :upside_down_face:

Anything new About BLE support for the Plugs mini EU and the Presence Sensor ??

I’m setting up a new Home Assistant server/controller/installation since begin December an both devices were discovered through BLE right away and offered to be added/paired. So its not impossible. Maybe take a look at the HA code for it. I’ll keep asking for it because I had last couple of weeks many internet outages and my Homey system went nuts not being able to reach the Presence sensors and also not to revive the internet by switching off and on the plugs to which my cable modem and my router are connected because its still cloud based and not BLE. My HA had solved it then later(=trigger for a longer time (than on Homey) no internet connection) through BLE.

I’m currently holding off buying more of the plugs mini EU and the presence sensors mostly because of the not exiting BLE support for Homey for them. I don’t trust only 1 Smarthome controller to handle something (important). I always have some fail save/redundancy on an other . HOMEY ←→ HA.

Its just a question and my explanation of what’s on my mind & why. No criticism or any hard feelings intended.

Thats what im trying to avoid. I dont even know if i can add it to hp23 directly via ble. Thanks anyway for your input. I Appreciate it.

I will take another look to see if I can add them via BLE.

Is there a way to request a change to make blind tilts have same invert open/close position in advanced settings like there is for curtains?

nice to quickly glance at the tiles and see them both “dark” meaning all shades/curtains/blinds are closed or open.

The blinds don’t have an open / close state, only a tilt position, so the tile has no concept of what is open and what is closed. Basically there are two closed states, closed up and closed down, plus one open state, horizontal.

Thank you.

I just also discoverd that the (cloud) presence sensor isn’t included/doesn’t particepate to the activity of the zone its placed in.

My zone around/above my bed(side) :

Sometimes for one Meter Plus there is no service data available. But 99 % of the time it works. At the moment not since ~ half an hour.

I send the log file. Can you see the issue for EE:2E:03:C6:28:61?
Is there really no data send or somehow a bug?

But in the switchbot android app I get/see the updates. I restarted homey and removed the battery from the meter plus. No it works again.

Unfortunately, Homey Diagnostics reports are useless. Could you open the app settings and select the Log tab, then set the level to Detailed information. If you see the error then go back and send the Log.

Homey’s BLE is not the best, so it’s possible it just misses the broadcast data.

I did send the log from switchbot App.

But currently it is working again. Strange thing is, that it is working most of the time. Perhaps 1x oder max 2x per day Homey does not get the updates for some minutes.
(I recognize it, because I’m optimizing my radiator valve control, so I log all changes and see “mistakes” in the heating up process”)

So, most likely a BLE issue, if it occurs rarely?!

Almost certainly. But if you enabled the log and it happens, you will see the data that was returned. If there is an empty service data object, then it’s just a failed BLE reception.

But it is strange, that this problem (no update for long time) occurs only since yesterday and a restart of Homey fix it (for some hours). No big issues like this for weeks.

I had the issue again this morning. I placed a second plus to the other and did also not get updates. Then I restarted Homey and since then I get Updates again…

I will look into the log this evening, if still possible. But I send out a log before and after Homey restart. Perhaps there is a difference visible?

As far as I know there was no Update of Homey or Switchbot App Yesterday. Strange…

Hi!

Any plans to support the switchbot keypad vision pro?

Wonder if….

  1. The api allows fingerprints and “who” pressed the button in a tag.
  2. It works locally or at least encrypted.
  3. It works stand alone? Or will the lock be required to connect it to homey?

Thanks!

I can see in the log that there are times when there is no “serviceData”.

This is a Homey BLE issue, normally caused by it’s poor range. I can see the rssi value on the failures is around -71 to -80, which is on the edge. Ideally it should be better than -60.
