Thank you to the team for developing the new app! This is a significant improvement.
However, yesterday I encountered an issue where all of my devices registered through Tuya (about 16 Wi-Fi-connected lamps) were no longer accessible via the Homey 2023. Additionally, I have some temperature sensors running on ZigBee through a Tuya Gateway, which are also currently integrated into the new Tuya app. These devices also stopped updating—but only in the Homey app; they were still controllable from the Tuya app without any issues. I had to repair each device individually to restore functionality. Notably, all devices went offline at the same time.
My questions for the team are as follows:
Should I expect more frequent occurrences of devices going offline in the app and needing to be re-added?
Is it planned that devices will run stably and consistently in the new app?
I’m a bit concerned that such an outage could become problematic, especially with critical devices like heating actuators. It would be helpful to know if this is a known issue or if it could be related to the fact that most of my devices were initially integrated through the Tuya developer platform. There were a few emails about some changes to the developer environment, which I haven’t confirmed—could this be related?
I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences and any advice on how to handle app stability moving forward.
Are updates running behind?
I can see that stuff is moving, but for example a temp sensor which is at 11 degrees in the Tuya app only shows 8.9 in homey, which is an old value.
Is there an alternative to setup this light without using the original Tuya app? Communication is via WiFi.
Missing all the light configurations templates on homey if I use the tuya official app
Cheers
If I understand your issue correctly you can set up the configurations you want to use as scenes in the tuya or smartlife phone app and execute those scenes from Homey.
Correct. You need to add the devices to your account to Tuya and next Homey will control the Tuya device in the cloud. But it is no issue, right?
If you think Homey will control the Tuya devices directly and not use the cloud, you’re wrong.
I just installed a Tongou smart meter/switch 16A .
Added very fast in tuya app and then in homey pro.
It starts reading my solar energy (i use it to monitor my energy generated from my solar energy) immediately and refreshes about every second just fine in Tuya app and in Homey.
After x-amount of time (minutes) it stops updating inside homey and only restarts updating once I open the Tuya app and click on the smart meter inside of the tuya app. Its not offline but seems to fall “asleep”?
Hey!
I have bougth Nedis WIFRC10CBK wifi remote. With Tuya app on my phone I can control my TV. When I use Tuya in Homey i am not able to control the TV. In Homey the device tells me: “All Good This device works fine but you can not control it.”
When trying
I can not mute tv.
I am not able to use controls that Homey Tuya app offers, but I am able to make a Scene on Tuya app on the phone, Homey Tuya wil execute this Scene at it works.
