I’m looking for help with repairing my older Homey Pro. I have an Earle 2018 model, version 4.2.0, which I purchased for a hefty sum (our exchange rate with the US is almost half). It worked perfectly until recently, when it started making strange noises. When I approached the unit, a small puff of smoke escaped from it—a very sad day indeed.
It seems the power supply inside has failed and decided to retire. I spoke with our local dealer in Australia, but unfortunately, no parts are available for repairs. Buying a new unit is out of the question due to the cost; after a few years of waiting for prices to drop, I’ve realised that was wishful thinking. A new replacement would cost close to $1,000 here.
So, does anyone have experience or knowledge about repairing the older Homey Pro?

Is a Homey Pro really that expensive in Australia. I did see one for 699 Australian dollar. That is about €35 more then in the Netherlands.
But it is a lot om money. I did not read anything about repairing the old Homey Pro from 2018.
That is also the version with 512 MB i believe. When installing a lot of apps today that memory is maybe not enough anymore.
Maybe a Homey mini is enough, depends on what you were doing with it.

Thank you for your response. I built a house six years ago and installed several smart controllers for lights, blinds, and curtains, which run on Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, Somfy, and some RF.
I’m wondering if the Mini has the same specifications as the old Pro, or if it’s better. It’s frustrating to consider replacing the Pro due to a $10 part that is either unavailable or I cannot identify the chip for.
As someone who is older (68) and on the age pension, purchasing a new Pro is not a luxury I can afford. I might explore options for a used Pro at a reasonable price.

The Homey mini can not as much as the old Homey.

And the old Homey Pro 2019 is no longer for sale.
