AirPlay for older Sonos devices (AirSonos equivalent)

Hello all,

I’m wondering if there is an app equivalent to the “AirSonos” add-on for Home Assistant?

Essentially I want to add AirPlay capabilities for older Sonos (and UPnP) devices…

I have perfectly good Sonos speaker (Play1’s, Play5’s & Soundbars) that I really do not want to change just for lacking AirPlay.

I’ve historically used the “AirSonos” add-on in Home Assistant to add this functionality back in to my setup. Interestingly I also noticed that the Spotify app can natively detect the Sonos speakers on my network also… I just want to be able to use the AirPlay functionality from any app if possible.

I’ve searched Homey resources (new to Homey so search those that I know of) and can’t see an equivalent to “AirSonos”

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

No such thing exists.

Homey doesn’t have an “addon” concept like Home Assistant has, only “apps” which are more similar to Home Assistant’s “integrations”.

There might be a slight chance that it could work with the SSH experiment, but I doubt it. It would require a lot of manual setup though.

I had assumed as much when I couldn’t find it easily… was holding out hope that there was a behind the scenes community app that served the need. I’m not adverse to putting in the manual effort but in this instance it may just make more sense to leave an old device running HA and the add-on in place.
