2019 homey pro no longer works! Need backup to the new homey pro?

My old homey pro (2019) is suddenly dead and doesn’t boot up when plugged into electric plug, tried several cable and adapters but still didn’t work.
If I bought the new homey pro (2023), will it work automatically with all relays and z-wave devices I have in my home using the same homey account? Or not? Noting that I didn’t do any backup from the old homey pro…

No, nothing gets migrated by just logging in to the new pro with the same account. You really had to have backups in place for easy migration.

Try this with the pro 2019, and don’t wait for any LED or voice response:

  • plug it in
  • turn upside down after about 30s
  • after about 30s to 60s, open the Homey app, tap on your Homey name on top of the start page / home page, and then select “Add a new Homey”:
  • open wifi settings from within the appeared menu
  • pray you’ll see the Homey wifi AP at some point
  • if it shows up, have it connect to your 2.4GHz wifi
  • pick “Full software download” from the menu
  • when asked, select “keep existing user”
  • when it succeeded, subscribe to the monthly backup @ app store
  • create a backup

Tried it several times but unfortunately still no response, I’m just surprised how come the homey after 2.5 years of usage staying in the same place just die all of a sudden! Anyway thanks for the help

Bummer. Yeah it really seem to have died too soon. Maybe it’s repairable by Athom.
